What have against Lloyd apart from his talent and your lack of it

Angel

What have you against Lloyd, apart from his talent and your lack of it

Bugger the Lloyd jealousy - jeez don't you think Hird's had enough bad luck for several football lifetimes.

Anyway nobody has to hit Lloydy, he plays for Essendon and is a superstar so things will have take care of themselves:

Wanganeen - superstar - turned Judas

Long - superstar -best part of three prime years out due to multiple knee reconstructions

Hird - see Long (except foot)

Bewick - superstar - knee reco

(I'm not mentioning Lucas as he's not that good...yet)

And a few older tragedies:

Watson: in his prime - knee

Bomber Thompson: in his prime - knee

Salmon: in his unstoppable goalkicking prime: Knee - never as good again

Roger Merritt: in his prime - knee (lost a year and then we lost him!)

Vanderhaar: you name it - broken everything - barely any ankles left!

Neale Daniher: Up there with Hird as the biggest tradegy of them all.

In fact, in my 24 odd years of following the Dons the 10 guys listed above would probably be amoung the top 15 of that period at the club... my point - we aren't injury prone - we're just unlucky that our worst injuries generally hit our best players. At the moment there's no major players out - but I not holding my breathe.

But to answer the question (in this order):

Craig Bradley
Chad Rintoul
Libba
Lance Whitnall
Silvani
Mick Martyn
Blakey - oh, that's ok I'll just what Johnno on the tape.

That't about it. Can't think of anyone else I hate enough anymore to see it happen (must be getting soft) - personally I'd leave D.Jarman and Carey to entertain (must be getting soft).

If this applied to past players:

G.Williams
C.Robertson
G.Williams
M.Conlan
G.Williams
A.Jarman
G.Williams
D.Breteton
G.Williams
R.Diperdomenico
G.Williams
J.Worsfold
G.Williams

In no particular order:

W.Carey
Silvagni
Wanganeen
Whitnall
Hocking
Martyn
W.Carey
Martyn

and just for good measure...
you guessed it
W.Carey
Martyn

Well,If you wanna clean up Martyn and Carey make sure Byron Pickett isnt watching.
I would love to see LLoyd cleaned up,but make sure the ump isnt watching cause he'll get another free kick.

Everyone is envious of Matthew Lloyd.

He's good looking, well mannered, rich, talented and famous.

If he was cleaned up good and proper (I don't think he's ever been properly shirtfronted) maybe my envy would turn to sympathy.

Besides he plays for Essendon, and if by chance you don't support the Bombers, of course you want to see their star full-foward 'taken out'

and you still haven't said what you have agianst librarians - maybe you are envious of their intelligence and your lack of it...

The Dutchman - we were talking about this issue the other day - just who is gonna be our next casualty? Since Coleman it seems every superstar we get gets seriously injured in or around their prime.

And in regards to should get cleaned up - everyone here is just mentioning good players, same old crap.
People I wanna see touched up are the Bradleys, Buckleys, C-Collins, Camporeales etc - the players who dont go near a hardball, and continuosly pick up soft easy touches and are heralded as 'superstars'. Gee we laughed the other day when we saw a Buckley highlights package against adelaide, where they couldnt stop talking about him - every touch they showed was a soft, gimme possession - he was just on his own (as usual). Gimme a break!

I know everyone dislikes Libba, but I like him, and respect him. He is half the size of everyone else, older than most players, but has a go! stands up to anyone and everyone, always under packs and getting the hard ball. Size doesnt worry him, his not scared of much - and dont worry, Ive spoken to him, he cops it as much as he gives it, but he doesnt whinge or cry, just gets on with the game.

Why is there this belief that every footballer needs to be in and under the packs or otherwise they aren't taken seriously?

Bomber, that is absolute rubbish. Why on earth would Collingwood want Nathan Buckey to play in close when he is going to be far more effective when given space to play. The same with Craig Bradley. Who gives a shit how they get their possessions. Getting them and using the ball effectively is what's most important.

Not every player in the 18 can be in at the packs. Carlton have got Brown and Ratten to do that. Collingwood have picked up O'Bree to do that kind of thing.

Nathan Buckley gets many possessions in space because that's the type of footballer he is. A team won't get very far if all players are the same.

I know I speak for most Geelong supporters when i say one word:

COLBERT!!!!

Hey loser, I agree with Nikkik over several of your thoughts.
1. A librarian is just a fancy name for a person to sit and read either porno's or look at pictures due to the lack of ability to read. I bet you have your Mum typing the messages.
2. Also I believe you have been very unkind to Mathew Lloyd. The young man is a true champion and is smarter and richer than you will ever be. The better the player gets the more people want to knock them down. Why dont your recognise his true talent, then of course I am talking to a thickhead librarian who considers tracking books for a living is a vital cog in todays world. Get a life and get a real job, like a bulldozer driver or something a little more exciting than your job.

If you really believe thats all Librarians do then you are even dumber than I thought you were.

Anyway - this is supposed to about footy - not librarians.

Jaffa - thats just it, if it wasnt for the in and under players, these recievers wouldnt get a touch!

Its always the in and under players who are the reason for a teams success, but never get the recognition.

Carey never gets over 20 odd touches in most games, but its not how many he gets, its how he does it - the influence he has.
The old cliche, its quality, not quantity.

Remember when Bradley would loop Harry madden and pick up 10-15 soft kicks a day - he ends up with 30 odd touches, but wasnt that influencial on the game!

The problem I have with Buckley is that Ive seen him pull out a couple times when he had to go - doesnt leave a very good impression!
