Carlton currently have 6 elevated rookies on their senior list. I don't think any of them deserve to feature in that top 10, but outside of Setanta, I wouldn't trade any of them for Maxwell.

Playing for Collingwood obviously has it's advantages.
Nick Maxwell - 118 games, 12.9 possessions, 4.5 marks, 0.2 goals, 2.6 tackles.
Michael Firrito - 127 games, 13.4 possessions, 3.7 marks, 0.2 goals, 2.6 tackles.
I'll take comfort in the knowledge that Leigh Adams, Matt Campbell, Nathan Grima and Marcus White will all make their way in to that list in 5 or 6 years.
yep, i suppose playing for collingwoods an advantage to get into the AA team as well?, fact is ones an AA and ones not, ones a club captain and ones not, i dont think anyone in their right mind would even mention firrito and maxwell in the same breath.

There are many worthy players not on that lis, like most limited lists, people miss out, sometimes unfairly, but this is one persons opinion.

Strange that you mention AA, seeing as one has actually played for Australia and the other hasn't.
As for being Collingwoods captain, I think that is just a statement that Maxwell is the only hard player in the team. If Firrito was at Collingwood there would be every possibility that he would be captain.

i have tears in my eyes, cant stop laughing, and WTF does playing against Ireland have to do with the AA team? hardly any of the AA team want to play, maxwell the hardest player in our team? does that mean that north are harder than collingwood?

Opinions can still be blatantly wrong at times.
I'd like to hear how she could possibly justify putting Jolly in ahead of a 2 time (and current reigning) AA ruckman in Sandilands.
I could give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't know Sandi was a rookie but that would just prove how poorly researched the piece was in the first place.

No matter who you put in the list someone would miss out and someone would say they should be in. All the players listed have been bargains for their teams and deserve a spot. It's then a matter of debate the merits of players on the list and not on the list.
That why they write these lists to spark debate and interest.
For what it's worth I think Morris should be ranked higher, he's a great defender, can play on tall and small. He'd be one of the first picked each week.
Other notable recent Bulldogs rookies are Harbrow and Picken, both currently in our best team. It's amazing how many players from all clubs come from this process and how important tomorrows draft has become. I remember not that long ago when no one cared about it...

But apparently chucking a bunch of stats up is a lot easier then making an observation based on watching games.

Duffield was also a rookie. Not to mention last year we rookied Broughton, DeBoer, Pearce, VanBerlo and Sibosado.
