1. Babylon 5 - I like sci fi with an on-going story arc, which JMS did a great job with the Shadow war / Earth civil war.
2. Battlestar Galatica (new)
3. Doctor Who - some dud doctors, but also good ones (Baker, Tenant and surprisingly I'm enjoying Matt Smith's doctor).
4. The X-Files - ran too many seasons, but the early ones were good.
5. Blakes 7 - showing my age. Crappy sets, but enjoyable.
6. Star Trek - DS9 - my favourite Star Trek, as once the war against the Dominion started it changed from the usual 'Days of our lives' in space, Star Trek otherwise tended to be.
7. Stargate SG-1
8. Dollhouse - Eliza Dushku - enough said. :D
9. Andromeda
10. V (original)

I have watched the first season of BG (new) and have to say that it is not very good. I tried to like it, but it was average. The use of the word "frak" (spelling?) was annoying. Dollhouse is quite good and Sliders is awesome.

Has anyone else seen the five stages of Star Trek list?

Star Trek - To boldly go where no-one has gone before.
Star Trek - The Next Generation - To boldly go where no-one has gone before....again.
Star Trek - DS9 - To sit still very boldly.
Star Trek - Voyager - To boldly go where no-one has gone before and get horribly lost in the process.
Star Trek - Enterprise - To boldly go and **** up the entire timeline of Star Trek.

Dr Who
Six Million Dollar Man.
Bewitched - Samanta was a MILF
Lost In Space.
Land Of The Giants.
Quantum Leap.
Stargate.

This is more my generation. Many of the modern shows I have not seen so I cannot comment about them.

The good ones
The X Files was just great in every regard- picked up some of the dvds on the spur of the moment recently, and was amazed how good it still looks- visually it is extraordinarily well shot for a 90s show and some of the stories are gold- The constant sly references to Mulder being a porn fiend still make me smile.

One of the interesting things is that in retrospect, i think the random weird occurrence episodes have aged a lot better than the overarching story arc has-I guess the alien abduction stuff was made a cliche but the random eps are still fresh and highly entertaining

Babylon 5 - Season 5 sucked badly!
Babylon 5 series 5 shouldn't been made. The last episode of season 5 was going to the end of season 4 until they got another season approved. That would have wrapped things up perfectly.

A perfect example of if a majority of fans wish the show had gone on longer, then it finished at just the right time. Unfortunately far from a lone show there :(
