Here's my top 10

1 - Kurt Angle - I just can't say enough about him. The guy has got everything, His in-ring skills are awesome his mic skills fantastic. Too many subtle classic one-liners to say, but you gotta remember he won a gold medal "with a broken freaken neck!" and was the first euro-intercontinental champion "besides D-Lo Brown, but he doesn't count"
2 - Stone Cold - As I only started getting into Wrestling in 1998, Stone Cold to me is what Hulk Hogan is to older wrestling fans. The whole gimmick is just mind-numbingly brilliant and i mark out for him everytime. Not much of a techniqal wrestlers yet still entertaining as he would keep you in the match just by his body language, facial expressions and trademark manouevers. Awesome on the Mic.
3- Buff Bagwell - Don't Ask me why, i just totally mark out for the guy.

THE REST ARE IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

4 - Chris Benoit - Greatest techniqal wrestler in the world, sensational athlete, will always put on a good match.
5 - Christian - Christian just oozes charisma and his facial expressions paint a thousand words. Captain Charisma is like a young Shawn Michaels, (although how old is Christian?) and this is how he should be presented. Christian should be a main eventer because thats how he rolls, he is a great tehniqual wrestler aswell
6 - Matt Hardy V.1 - Had the best gimmick ever and the WWE ********ed it up, Matt was the better Hardy, on the mic, and in the ring, his in-ring capabillities are greatly underated and ROH and TNA and whoever else he signs with will greatly benefit from his presence.
7 - Y2J - Can't help but like this bloke, especially in his earliest days where he interupted all the superstars. it would just damn funny. His Hightlight Reel is just that and it also describes his wrestling matches, he wrestled an outstanding match at WM19 against Shawn Michaels, and he could acheive more if the WWE just ************ push him!!
8 - Mick Foley - Maybe Flair was on the money when he said Mick Foley was just a glorified stuntman but i reckon he was much more, he gave us Mankind, the lovable guy who was kinda deranged, he gave us Cactus Jack the Hardcore legend wo was kinda deranged, he gave us dude love...we can forgive him for that one. but most of all he gave us Mick Foley. (if you read this while playing slow, sad music then i bet you'll have a tear in your eye)
9 - Shawn Michaels - Is still undoubtedly the showstopper and always will be. can put on a blinder, at any given moment. Still a star on the mic and in the ring.
10 - Eddie Guerrero - His unique character, as well as his awesome skill and abillity just makes a great mix.

Actually you'll find that Paul Heyman first used this gimmick in EC-DUB with Bubba Ray Dudley, could any of the ECW fans tell us if it got over or not?
As for Matt Morgan, personally i don't like his wrestling style, i just don't mark out for the big guys i guess, but if the WWE believe his ready for Smackdown, he'll need to get over with the fans, so he needs a gimmick. At least the WWE are doing something unique, and not just giving him the same old gimmicks handed out to everyone. Did anyone think that the Eugene gimmick was a good idea? I know i didn't but like how over that became? If the stuttering gimmick doesn't work then Matt will just go back to OVW and 'debut' in another 2 years.

And as i am led to believe, Matt Morgan is OVW heavyweight champ, and in fact just won it a day before appearing on smackdown...my question..why would they give the belt to Matt, if he was just about to be promoted to Smackdown? especially after losing two of its tag team as well.

They are using alot of gimmicks afew times such as the masterpiece chris masters was also used for mark jindrak. I reckon jindrak was quite good as the reflection of perfection and so was his manager teddy long. i reckon it is stupid how they bring guys like matt morgan that we have already seen and give him a whole new gimmick and say he's making his debut. If there not good enough fire them and don't bring them back.

I haven't watched wrestling for a long time but the best from when I did were.

1. Ravishing Rick Rude - This guy was hilarious. I'd love the way he'd stir up the crowd.

2. Bret Hart

3. Hulk Hogan

4. Jake "the snake" Roberts - You've got to love a guy who brings a snake into the ring every time he wrestles.

5. Mr Perfect

6. Dino Bravo - "World's strongest man" didn't get the matches he deserved

7. The Undertaker

8. Dusty Rhodes

9. Ric Flair - didn't see much of him because he was in the rival organisation. Obviously a great wrestler.

10. "Macho Man" Randy Savage

It wasn't that Matt Morgan wasn't good enough, it's just that he wasn't over with his old gimmick, so they sent him back to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he became Heavyweight champ. The WWE wanted to do the stuttering gimmick and thought Matt Morgan would be right for the job.

On that note, did Michael Cole actually say he was "debuting" ? I watched the same smackdown a couple of days ago and didn't recall him saying it.

Yeah more then likely. For instance, I believe Mordecai had what it took to become WWE Champion. He didn't have the ring skills of Kurt Angle but he knew was he was doing and he had an awesome gimmick, but what happened to him? He tore through the roster then lost to Rey Mysterio, pretty much leaving WWE straight after to go back to OVW. This is the mentality of the WWE. Keep crap gimmicks and abolish the decent ones..
I can't believe you actually liked Modecai? He ddidn't have the in ring skills like Kurt Angle because he didn't have in ring skills at all. Big Show has better in ring skills then him. Yes the gimmick was great, but the wrestler was not.
