Why are Port so desperate to get rid of Ken when he’s top 10 all time? One of the icons of the game based on these stats

Stats are skewed towards so many soft draws in Ken's coaching reign. The flat track game plan will win more games most of the time but doesn't stand up when it matters most. That's the frustrating part.

What is it in particular about Hinkley's game plan(s) that you think isn't translating well to finals?

Our inability to handle direct pressure from better opposition causing costly turnovers. Ken has built a team that has no hard edge to it, so we often get bullied out of contested ball too much. Our indirect play into our forward line usually results in high inaccuracy in front of goals. When things don't go well, then we bomb it into Dixon or any other tall forward that struggles with pack marking.

The fairest way to compare coaches winning record to take into account number of games coached; is to take the difference in games coached and to allocate them as draws to the coach that has coached fewer games.

It focuses on bulk (shitty) inside 50s and then locking it in hoping to score.

It overwhelms shit teams.

Good teams sit back and intercept the high balls then pick through our high press with ease.

Has been the same for the best part of a decade.

If Vossy doesn't take you to the promised land would you consider welcoming Ken down to Ikon Park?

I don't follow Ken/Port close enough to say yes/no.

Generally speaking though, I'd rather take a punt on an up-and-comer than a guy who has been around as long as Ken.

It's a good point, and one not really mentioned as much as just stating that they changed the game plan etc.

The starting forward line for the 2020 Grand Final had Mark O'Connor and a highly cooked Luke Dalhaus trying to win us a flag. Really makes you think that we did pretty well to get there.
Chris Scott is constantly rated as hardest to coach against by opposition coaches.
Imagine how good he would be if he got to work with high quality talent, rather than having to field sides full of speculative players who are rookies, or third/fourth round draft picks.

About 60% as great as Ken which is still elite

Needed to be a list of the Top 1020 coaches before Matthew Nicks appears on the table close to the bottom.

Chris Scott there by the grace of the, off the books, Costa Living Allowance in play at Geelong

Pagan would have been up there if he hadn't pissed it away at the dumpster fire that was mid 2000's Carlton
Same with Clarkson if he wasn’t at his current dumpster fire.
