Bit harsh there on 3 definite backup players. They are useful in certain games and situations during the year and we definitely need hard working second stringers for the team

They won't be on the list this time next year so why give them games when we could give those opportunities to players who actually have the potential to apart of our future?

I very much doubt it was his decision alone. Imo the club pushed him out. Some will argue he was finished - i still believed he had a bit left. However, for the direction in which the club is moving in, it was probably a good move by the club, as much as i was/am disappointed by it.

Would he have gone back so soon as a development coach if this was true?
I doubt it.

Lance was pushed. He is behaving like someone that was pushed. Not talking to the club.

Lappin does not behave like a player that was pushed. Thats not to say he didn't have conversations with Ratts about whether he should retire or not..........but pushed indicates he wanted to play on and was sacked.

Very unlikely he would then come back as an assistant to work with those who eneded his career "prematurely".

Lappin was NOT pushed. I remember listening to an interview on SEN with Lappin at the start of the year where he said that this was his last year of footy. He decided it was over and the club agreed. End of story.
