I got all of his albums (boxset) for xmas - amazing songwriter/musician.
What are your favourite songs of his?

Captain Jack, Say Goodbye To Hollywood I can't split. Love Miami 2017 as well.

I think Goodnight Saigon is the best thing he's ever written.

Don't really like the The Stranger much. She's Right on Time is good. Allentown is ****ing great - assume you know it. Movin Out is a real rocker

Get into this

KICK ASS!

Great intro too funnily enough.

This too.

God he could write a hit.

Al Kooper, and that organ. :hearts:

Bruce on that -

"The first time that I heard Bob Dylan I was in the car with my mother, and we were listening to, I think, maybe WMCA, and on came that snare shot that sounded like somebody kicked open the door to your mind, from 'Like a Rolling Stone.'

What a track!

Another one of the best rock intros I've seen live.

I saw Tool at the Brixton Academy in London in 2001 on the Lateralus tour and when they played this song the band were all circling around facing the drummer Danny Carey, it was like some weird druid séance type shit and the crowd was like wtf is going on?

Then they just exploded with them all turning around to the crowd and rocking out when the guitar riffs kicked in, blew us all away.

It was cray cray like every Tool concert, I saw them at the Perth Ent Cent in 2002 and they had all these alien type creatures crawl on stage doing acrobatics.

The band just kept rocking on like nothing was happening and the whole crowd was like wtf? It was both insane and awesome to watch.

Musically they are on point live too, they sound just as good as they do on record if not better.

Reppie you have Maynard as your avatar so I'm guessing you're a Tool fan.

Have you seen them live?

I've heard other crazy stories from other Tool shows where Maynard walked on stage at a Heavy Metal festival in the UK in a miniskirt and high heels.

They weren't that well known back then in the UK and a lot of the metal heads there were booing him and calling him a phag, then Tool started rocking out and blew them all away.

A mate of mine also saw them on the Aenima tour at Freo Metropolis and he said the band were on stage virtually naked covered in fluro blue paint.

They always do something to freak the crowd out which is why they are so awesome to see live.

Yep seen them 3 times all in Melbourne.
Mind blowing visuals and the music speaks for itself.
All the shows i have been too Maynard sings in the shadows...can barely see him.
Working on a new album at the moment i hear...can't wait.
A Perfect Circle and Pucifer are other side projects he involves himself in whilst not playing with Tool.
