1. Matty Scarlett

Then a gap...

2. Cameron Ling
3. Paul Chapman
4. Gary Ablett
5. Josh Hunt

Scarlett because he's tough, reliable, our most consistent player and our one superstar. Ling, Chapman and Hunt because their commitment and dedication is absolutely unquestionable. Plus ever improving performances from all 3. And Ablett for freakish skill, plus sentimental value of watching his Dad for 13 years. When Nathan steps up the list may change.

1. J. Bartel - I'd like to see a stat of the amount of times he backs into a pack taking a saving mark in our defensive 50.
2. D. Wojcinski - Threw in a bit of a wild card here, missed him last year and loved his runs through the middle, plus you can't go past that last name.
3. M. Scarlett - For obvious reasons, doesn't often have a bad game, and as has been said it's great to see him streaming up the ground while his opponent is left in the Goal square.
4. C. Ling - Hard nut, always in there getting the job done, goes unnoticed quite a lot of the time and somehow racks up many possessions.
5. G. Ablett - This guy doesn't need to get a possession to do something with the ball, the way he positions himself and gets the ball out of tight situations is just amazing to watch, I'll admit, I do get a little excited when he gets the ball and just wonder what he is going to do with it each time.

I don't know if these really are my top five, just the guys that popped into my head first off... It's a bit hard when we've got the team we have right now.

Cameron Mooney-does not mess around and always pops up when he really needs to.

Paul Chapman-nice guy, good player and gets the crowd going. Can milk a free kick like no one.

Peter Riccardi-just seems to do the right thing all of the time unlike many others.

Steve Johnson-freak.

Shannon Byrnes-not the best disposal and sometimes lacks decision making skills, but his hearts in the right place.

Look ottens can play i know that but how u could have him in youre 5 fave players compared to blokes who have worked there butts of for the last 3-5 yrs with Ottens who has come to the club on big money and yet to deliver surprises me.

Ottens having a great year and playing good finals footy then yes he will be one of my faves but he is yet to deliver anything yet and blokes like scarlo, Mooney, Kelly etc have, just my thoughts.

i will have 22 fave players if they do the right thing this year.

MY TOP 5 CATS PLAYERS

1. Will Slade -You probably all think i'm mad but his been my fav player pretty much since he came to the cats in 2002. His been through hell and back with injuries galore. His an inspiration and so determined to play the game he loves. Finally he is back and ready to take on season 2006!!! YAY! :)

2. Gazza - Absolute star! He gave me Ablett fever!

3. Nath - he keeps his cool with the ball and has plenty to offer the cats. His got a lot of talent.

4. Bartel - So hard and tough for a fairly small guy! GO JIMMY!

5.
Joel Corey -awesome footballer. He deserves a medal!

Latest Fav: Prismall -havent seen much of him but he looks like a mini Sladey. LOL His gonna be a star.

1: Mooney: Same reason as everyone else. loves the niggle.
2: David Johnson: Goes so hard at ball and so honest.
3: Hunt: Sheer size
4: Chapman: Love of the niggle
5: Ling: MVP of geelong

1. Mooney - love everything he does
2. Ablett - Used to think he was arrogant and not think much of him, but his freakish skill and awesome talent, plus he is a pretty good bloke too, makes me loose that train of thought and relize what a gun he is

3. Milburn/Enright/Corey/Bartel/Ling/Egan/D Johnson/Scarlett/Chapman - These players are all just awesome and go about their buisness in a classy way, all are guns

Plus the rest of the geelong team not sure if there is a player I dont like

Cameron Ling-Awesome work rate, real leader and is mr consistency also seems like areal good bloke outside of football as well.
Gary Ablett-Great to watch is as skillful as they come and is the son of the greatest player ive seen.
Steve Johnson-Although frustrating steve can do stuff thaqt shouldnt be done...love watching him just for his unpredictability and when hes on fire you know ur in for a good night.
Josh Hunt-Love the power of the guy and his kicking is just awesome the hardest thing to do in football is made look so easy by him.
James Bartel-Cause he fuc-kin good....hes tough hes skillful and he wins alot of the ball.

Jarad Rooke - a hard nut with passion to burn
Gary Ablett - a superstar
Paul Chapman - courageous and tough
Brad Ottens - Gives his all despite the criticism of some
Cameron Mooney - the barometer of the side

Special mentions: Scarlett, Enright, Bartel, Milburn

1. Milburn - Absolutely love the way he plays have since I started loving football again in 99'
2. Rooke - I love the way he goes hard at the ball, he gives 110%
3. Egan - I still can't believe this year was only his second season.
4. Gary Jnr - You can almost say everytime he gets the ball 'Thats a goal'
5. Scarlett - He is so good that you notice when he is having a bad day.

And I also have a 2 that I disliked this year.
1. King - ****ed me off all year, he is always injured and why can't he run? I know he is a big guy, but Ottens is just as big and runs twice as fast.
2. Ling - Had the worst year ever, same reason as King really, doesn't run or chase, just handballs.

But they were just this year. Hopefully they improve next year.

1. Steve Johnson - never seen him do the percentage play. Never know what he will do. Name your price at 30m out directly in front. Unbackable on his wrong side from almost in the crowd. My favourite player.

2. Jarad Rooke - for the exact opposite reasons.

3. Matthew Scarlett - love seeing him destroy great full forwards.

4. Gary Ablett - always thought he was over-rated, until this year.

5. David Wojcinski - "plays the game as it should be bloody played". Runs through the guts, and kicks it 60m. Priceless.

Mooney: When he plays well, we generally win. Puts the fear of god into opposition players (for good reason) - I especially like how Aaron Hamill seems to be intimidated by him. Plays with passion and emotion.

Chapman: Good on the ground. Good in the air. Hard at the ball and the man. Never stops giving lip to the opposition. Best kick for goal in the side.

SJ: Thinks he's still playing for the Wangaratta Rovers. Wears baggy shorts to cover his fat a***. Confounds the opposition who have no idea what he is going to do. Does at least 2-3 brilliant things every game, sometimes offset with 2-3 ridiculously bad things.

GAJ: Just pure natural footy ability, and now has the confidence to take on opponents. Will only get better with age and confidence.

Rooke: Fanatical, never gives up, hard at the man and ball to the point of putting himself in physical danger. Has much better foot and hand skills than he is given credit for.

I felt bad leaving Scarlett out, but his comments of a couple of weeks ago about Thompson p***ed me off.
