If you wanna see decimated just look at us :(

Reckon we're just as bad at the moment. Fortunately, besides Murph, Carrazzo and Laidler we should get most of our guys back fairly soon.

But Murphy, Carrazzo, Waite, Laidler, Yarran, Henderson, Duigan and Thornton are quite substantial outs. Thornton probably wouldn't get a game in our best side but when our only tall defenders are Jamo and Bower and our only tall forwards are resting ruckmen he'd have been very handy. :(

I believe there are a few teams hurting at the moment.
It is a reasonable excuse (despite the whining on other threads) but it will not give you 4 points if you don't win.
Collingwood were impressive last night winning without key players.
Essendon and West Coast have done it this year, and Carlton need to do it today.
Just don't make this thread an injury comparison, okay?

My rankings for the Adelaide v Collingwood game;
10 - Beams
9 - Sidebottom, Rutten
8 - Pendlebury, Reilly
7 - Shaw
6 - Thompson
5 - Dangerfield
4 - Sloane, Jacobs
0 - Cloke
Does this align with other people's views on the game?

I'd have Thomas with an 8 as well. i thought it a really interesting tactic playing on the outside of Dangerfield. They were prepared to let him win some contested ball but obviously wanted to stop his bursting runs.

From Fremantle v West Coast:
10 - Rosa
9 - Shuey, Glass
8 - Gaff, Waters
7 - Naitanui, Priddis
6 - Darling
5 - Scooter, Sandilands, Cox
4 - Schofield
3 - Hill (Frem)
2 - Pearce, Mzungu

Will consider Shuey and Glass for the 50/high unluckies.
Naitanui probably moves back into the 50.
Cox and Sandilands slide.
Priddis/Waters/Gaff moves to unluckies.

Players who I think should be in the top 50 (from Richmond)
In Order:
Deledio (2-6)
Cotchin (9-15)
Rance (13-25)
Maric (25-40)
Foley (40+)
Tuck(40+)
Players who should be in the unluckies:
Grigg
Riewoldt (Whilst he may be down on form, he is still equal second in the Coleman race.)

Martin is starting to play good football and if he continues his current form, should start pushing his way in.

None of Pendlebury, Kennedy, Stanton, Watson and Thompson, the top 5 players this year, really had an amazing game. So hopefully Lids will make his way into that group now.

If Robinson doesn't deserve a 10 for his effort today, not sure who does. Probably the best performance by a Carlton player all year. 33 touches, 16 contested, 85% DE, 3 contested marks, game high 7 clearances, game high 8 inside 50s, 6 tackles, 1 goal assist, 3 goals 2 and 1 hitout for good measure. :p

Assuming you only rank players in contention as Mclean was top 2 or 3?

I'm happy to bump Robinson up to 10.
What about the rest of the rankings?

Yes, McLean is not in contention, hence, why I haven't ranked him.

Yeah, wasn't going to comment until I was sure of your criteria.

Kreuzer's an interesting one. Really hard to rate him on this game. Won a lot of the footy in a different roles while his 1%ers were brilliant but failed to have a presence in the marking contests. More of a slow grind. 7's probably fair.

Jones very quiet in the first but found a ton of it in the second. 7.
Frawley didn't go to Hampson but thought he was solid when it came his way. I'd give him 7.

Simmo started brilliantly but slowed a bit after quarter time. Agree with the 8. Scotland perhaps a 7.

Thought Clark was very good, particularly early. Depending on how harshly you mark accuracy, a solid 7, 8 at a stretch.

Not sure what a 5 constitutes but Judd was servicable. Better second half after a quiet start. 5 or 6 sounds about right. Without doubt marked by a higher standard than others.

surely you jest, he has been terrible for most of year would not be in Top 100 let alone close to 50

lol ignorance

Riewoldt has had a better season than some would think. He's done enough to be "unlucky" so far, I'd say.

EDIT: Wait shit, which Riewoldt are we talking about? I'm referring to Nick in this post.

Not sure Tuck should be in. Grigg has probably had a better than him so far.

He was talking about Jack, who has been terrible in at least 4 games this year and should be no where near this list, hence the not in top 100 comment

He has only had 1 bad game in round 1, every other week he has beaten his opponent and in last month has been as good as he was in 2010, , compare that to say the last person on list Hawkins who has been good for 4 games a couple of average and a couple of crap , he is definately in the unluckies just outside and would move inside should he beat Hawkins tonight.
Not really convinced either should be there, but would give it to Hawkins over Lake again.

Scott Selwood has been relatively quiet since the Kangaroos win. Would be hanging on for dear life in the top 10 right now, maybe slotting in behind the likes of Cotchin, Ablett and Hayes.

Waters deserves top 50. Has been consistently good of late, and 2nd in the league for marks as well. At a longshot, I would say he is a possibility for AA VC if he keeps this form up (would be 1st-timer AA though).

None of our other players are Top 50 certainties. Glass, Gaff, Shuey, Cox, Schoey and Nicknat would all be around the mark though. Masten & Hurn top 100.

Scooter will slide.
Not in the ten anymore.

You are correct regarding our other players.
Glass and Naitanui are closest to top 50 (if in).
Gaff, Cox, Shuey next.
Then Schofield, Masten and Hurn (but they're not really close).
I will consider Waters. AA VC is a long shot.

This thread made me chuck $50 each way on Deledio for the brownlow last week at $51. He is a very consistent footballer, Richmond have a good run home and is obviously playing pretty well if the opinions in this thread are anything to go by.

You're game.
I'm not, nor will ever be a gambler. Particularly the Brownlow is a bizarre award for betting purposes.
Last year Swan would've been the 8th-12th best player in the league and still broke the voting record.
At the moment Pendlebury and Watson would be going quite well but Deledio is just as good a chance as any other.
Except that I think that the umpires might favour votes to players such as Cotchin and Martin because they just do the crazy flashy things that might pluck the three-votes when he is no sure thing.
If Lids were to continue in his form it is likely that he will be top 5 though. So that'd be a better bet IMO.

Pendles was fantastic against Adelaide imo. In such a tight and close in contest he was the cleanest player on the ground by a mile.
