From Haw v WC:
9 - Mitchell, Darling
8 - Masten, Selwood, Sewell
7 - Naitanui, Shuey, Waters, Franklin
6 - Roughead, Birchall
5 - Cox
4 - Lewis, Kerr, Gaff

Quite liked Schoenmakers game as well.
Could've easily given Franklin more because of his dominant 1st quarter but he shut up shop after half time.
Wow 9 WC players in the best but Hawks never in doubt, Gaff, Kerr Shuey & Selwood all had zero hurt factor with their possessions.

I'm just doing those in contention for the top 50. Not every player on the ground.
Also, West Coast were the better side after quarter time so doesn't seem too bizarre that they'd have some more players in the 8s and 7s.
I am perfectly happy to move Roughead to an 8.
You quote Gaff and Kerr having no impact.
Guess what, I gave them a 4.
That means they were below average.
Would disagree on Shuey and Selwood having "no impact".
Hence they received a 7 and 8 respectively.
That list does not constitute the best (I usually put the two or three best players on the ground in and then only those around about the top 50).
Hence why Darling is in the rankings yet not in my top 50 (although he would be in the top 100 no problem).

Do you really think so?
Why should he be in the top 50?
Plus I haven't released this week after what was arguably his best game for the year.
Mate I'm not taking pot shots here, because at the end of the day you can't please everyone. But I just think he surely has had more of an influential year then at least 10 players already in the top 50. Here are some stats:

#1 in the AFL for goals
#1 in the AFL for marks inside 50
#12 in the AFL for goal assists

I just think those stats alone should have him in at the 40-50 range ahead of Milne, Petrie and even Lewis.

Where was the Riewoldt outrage before he won the Coleman?
As a Richmond supporter, who watches him carefully every week, I can assure you that Jack is not going as bad as most think. Currently he is being double teamed at every contest and sometimes even triple teamed. This is all based on Vickery being injured and McGuane being a tiny presence. He isn't slotting the ones he normally does but he he will still finish the year with +60 goals.
Where the **** is Jack Riewoldt? He'll win the damn coleman and isn't top 50? Da ****? Doesn't he kick the goals that have been listed for him?
Jack Riewoldt not in the top 50?
This has to be some sort of sick, twisted joke surely?

I am prepared to hear arguments as to why he should be in the top 50 (FYI, this is the one year where "the Coleman" doesn't count as an argument).
I will need convincing though.

Interrupted pre-season, had 7 surgeries on several different injuries. Early in the year his only decent foil gets injured, and he needs to shoulder the fowardline. Has been quite consistent, kicking atleast 3 goals a game 12 times this year. He is first in the AFL for goals and marks inside-50, and out of the other forwards in contention, he has tackled and other than Pav has had more goal assists.

He is the most durable of all the forwards in contention and is much smarter, ie suspensions.

The biggest flaw with Jack you could say is that he only showed up for a few games, but you could also say the same about Pavlich, who you have at 21. He only started playing top 50 football at round 11 and you could even say that he has dropped off severely since around Round 19.

The fact that statistically he's pretty much on par with Hawkins even forgetting the Coleman.

Statistically Minson has been the same as Jacobs and Maric, doesn't make it so in reality.

Yeh have to agree, especially Gaff.. he was very well stopped until 3/4 time.

So are you saying I'm wrong because my list doesn't align with Sheehan's?
Where do you think he should be?
No I am saying you are doing a good job, finding the more unrecognised players and actually crediting them. Good work by you :)

Hi guys,

Before I post my final top 50 I want to get people's opinions on it.
In order to do so in the best way possible I will post 10 players at a time and you can specify whether you think a player is too high or too low.
I won't be moving players willy-nilly so you will have to convince me as to why I should move a player (but I am flexible).
So the top 10 is:
1. Ablett
2. Watson
3. Cotchin
4. Beams
5. Kennedy
6. Dangerfield
7. Pendlebury
8. Deledio
9. Thompson
10. Selwood
