Took a big contested mark in the goal square and took a great intercept mark in the last quarter to kick te clutch goal for 50 on a tough angle.
Had a solid quarter.
Lake had 3 good quarters, and kicked a goal as well.

Cloke played a part in the win, but he wasn't in the bests (IMHO Swan Griffen Beams Shaw Sidebottom Lake then maybe Wood)

Scott Selwood needs to be higher... one of the best midfields right now, reputation gets plenty of those above him to far.

Some people are hard to please.
He essentially falls in a bracket including Pendlebury, Thompson, Watson and Stanton. They are not far behind Kennedy.
Indeed, it is possible that he could be no. 1 after this weekend.
Would have to have a massive game and rely on other around him not having an equal influence.

The thing that seems most out of kilter is the ratings of KD and rucks, the only rucks that should be there are Ryder, NicNat, McIntosh and maybe Sandilands, Jacobs is way too high and Maric should not be there. I don't think many people would think Rance has been better than Cotchin/Hayes for example and Henderson while been good is too high also. Biggest standout for mine is Kade Simpson, he should be closer to top 10 than mid 20's, has been outstanding. The list seems too reactive to last 1-2 weeks form imo.

Top 4 not enough? This suggests he's been not only one of the best midfielders, but currently one of the best players in the league. He's been outstanding but to rate him above any of the top three would see more posts questioning that.

FWIW re report cards, Scott Thompson...

Round 1. 5/5
Round 2. 5/5
Round 3. 3/5
Round 4. 4/5
Round 5. 5/5
Round 6. 5/5

Total for year is 27/30. Round 3 could be 4/5 as could round 5. Was in the bests for both but match result influenced my final rating.

Rating individual performances on a scale week to week and against other players is very difficult. Theoretically there could be 44 players getting 5/5 ratings in one game. This doesn't tell you much for that game, but with an established criteria it becomes relevant over time.

Actually, you are correct:
Tippett:
Round 1 - monster game. 5/5
Round 2 - average. 2.5/5
Round 3 - very good. 4/5
Round 4 - very good. 4/5
Round 5 - poor. 1/5
Round 6 - woeful. 0/5
Total: 16.5/30

Cloke:
Round 1 - good game. 3/5
Round 2 - very good. 4/5
Round 3 - poor. 1/5
Round 4 - very good. 4/5
Round 5 - average. 2.5/5
Round 6 - average. 2.5/5
Total: 17/30

I stand corrected.
Also the monster game vs very good game I let be determined by Champion Data.
Tippett had a CD score of 150 for round 1.
Cloke had a CD score of 126 for round 4.

It was you who said to compare them statistically.

I realise Tippet was very ordinary against Sydney, but to give him a zero suggests he did nothing at all. Are you saying Adelaide would have performed just as well without him with only 17 on the field? He kicked one goal and assisted in two others and had a few hitouts towards the end. Not much statistically, but given he was double and triple teamed most of the night, this opened up the forward line, and arguably, allowed Walker to kick five and Callinan and Petrenko three each.

Even with half a mark he's equal with Cloke...

Brownlow doesn't take into account bad games. No POTY type leaderboards do really.

Just using your example as my example, so I'm not saying this is the case for Selwood but he could have 3 BOG's and 3 WOG's. Kennedy could have 3 BOG'S, one 2nd BOG and two 4th BOG's.

That's why I gave any player I watched a rough grade out of 10. Easier to keep track of the consistently good players.

Going by my brownlow votes I have-
Kennedy - 11
Pendlebury - 10
Thompson - 10
S Selwood - 9

So if Selwood has another great game this weekend and the other 3 don't play that well he will be number 1

Ablett and Stanton could very well be on 9+ too, by your logic maybe they should jump Selwood.

From an Essendon point of view Zaharakis shouldn't be in the 50 also I would definitely have Fletcher and Heppell in the unluckies.

I don't see how Maric is in. He is good around the ground but as a tap ruckman he doesn't do enough for me.

So imo out Zaharakis, Maric in Jones, Redden

Are you talking about Jack Redden if so you have to look at more than one game.

Ziebell probably shouldn't be in the unluckies list - has missed two games, been decidedly meh in two others and just average in another. Only played one good game out of the six.
Even looking only at North players like Thompson and Firrito have been better so far.

E: I know the unluckies list isn't especially important and that the accuracy of the top 50 should be the main priority though.

Here's my weekly Tiger report.

Defenders:
Rance: What a game, was absolutely excellent defensively, keeping Reid to basically nothing. Offensively, was just as good. He amassed 27 possessions and 12 marks and was a major part in our win.
Grimes: Again, so underrated, probably because a young KPD isn't expected to be dominating like he is. Thrashed Grundy and Everitt, was composed and also picked up 24 pos and 12 marks. Hasn't been beaten by his opponent once this year.
Midfielders:
Tuck: This week should be his induction into the top 50. He defeated your rank no.1 in a fair battle. He also picked up 24 possessions and 8 tackles. Tucky has had a massive year.
Cotchin: A very good game, wasn't a blinder but still was one of our best. 27 possessions, 6 clearances and 6 inside 50's was a very decent effort. He should maintain his spot.
Deledio: Week after week he just continues to impress as a midfielder. He stepped up when he needed to and also picked up 25 disposals.
Grigg: He won the game off of his boot. What a wonderful pick up he has been and his output this year would have him in the top 50 this year. He is our leading disposal getter and this week he kicked 3 goals and had 26 pos.
Martin: After his first half, I thought he was going to be BOG for the match but sadly, he was disappointing after. He still managed a decent game and you can sense a massive match coming his way.
Foley: Looks his previous AA form. He really used his speed to his advantage and had 8 tackles and 7 clearances today. He could've been a tad cleaner off the boot but was still very good regardless.
Forwards:
Riewoldt: He is starting to play some very good football. He has had consecutive bags of 4 and he could have kicked more had he been more accurate. (4.4) I don't see him as top 50 yet, but would be sniffing.
Rucks:
Maric: Big Ivan has been wonderful. Destroyed his opponent in Seaby today, he picked up 17 pos and 28 hitouts. He also kicked a magical goal and should surely move up in ranking.

Morris, Houli and Newman are steadily making their way up to comment status.

You overrate us way too much. This a top 50 list in the whole comp. At 3-4 we deserve a few in there, not 6 or 7. Morris, Houli, Newman wouldn't be anywhere near it. Same with Riewoldt, Tuck and Foley.

Still, you're right in that most players in the 50 already or on the fringe (Grigg) played well.

Kennedy was best for us but his 3rd quarter was the only patch that has matched his season form. So it wasn't close to his other better performances. Very quiet in the last quarter. Richards was ordinary for the second week in a row. Parker struggled with injury. Jetta one of our best.

So:
1. Kennedy (still top 3 imo)
2. Richards (fall to late 20's/early 30's)
3. Jetta (around the same spot I guess (late 30's/early 40's))

Parker, Bird, Jack unluckies

Don't get me wrong, there are only 5 players on that list who would be in my top 50. Them being Rance, Cotchin, Deledio, Maric and Grigg. I don't think many can argue with that list. I am simply commenting on some select tiger games and am just giving my perspective.
