Lol what? He would be an 8 minumum, 9 for me though.

Yeah overall he is probably an 8 minimum, just mentioning what I saw of him wasn't great, but only watched the last quarter and a half or so & he wasn't great in that period

You shouldn't be chucking any Essendon other than Watson, Bellchambers and possibly Fletcher in votes. Nobody else came close to playing half a decent game.

Hi guys.

Here's round 20.
You may see some anomalous selections (i.e. Ward increasing to 31 despite not playing).
This has to do with the many average to poor games that occurred from the mid-point of the 50 to the bottom.

No huge problems with the list. Interesting to note that Buddy improved by 3 spots when he hasn't played in a long time, but Hawkins is injured early in the game and drops 5. He has only kicked a couple less goals this year than Buddy. I think Jordan Lewis has had a great year though and perhaps is a bit low.

Agreed, neither Stanton or Franklin played, yet Stants dropped 11 spots and Buddy went up 3 spots to go above him. I'm not disputing the places, just I know you work with a formula and I can't get my head around how that works?

10 - Watson
9 - Harvey
8 - Bellchambers, Thompson
7 - Swallow
6 - Dempsey
5 - Petrie
2 - Wells
Petrie got fairly well beaten by the old bloke IMHO. Wells was good, for the half or whatever he was on the park; wouldn't take anything away from him for that.
Didn't think Thompson was *that* good, nor Dempsey. North very even across the middle, probably all guys you wouldn't have near the 50 but a lot of them had 6-7-8/10 games.

Wells did not make it to quarter time - even though his 1st quarter was sparkling. Harvey was best on ground. His 3 goals in 3 minutes turned the game on its head.

Ablett to no.1 for mine now.

Kennedy is back to his best form over the last 5 games with 4 arguable BOG's, but I'd leave him at 5.

1. Ablett
2. Watson
3. Cotchin
4. Beams
5. Kennedy

That's a good top 5 and a good reflection of the changing of the guard this season. Lots of new names around the top 10 which is good.

In regards to the Swans. Kennedy obviously no.1 for us. Jack was very good again and wouldn't look out of place in the top 10, especially with guys like Pendlebury slowing up. O'Keefe was just behind Kennedy as our best, so I'd bring him in now. McVeigh was good, so should hold.

Swans season to date:

1. Kennedy
2. Jack
3. Richards
4. O'Keefe
5. McVeigh
6. Jetta

Not sure if Jetta warrants top 50 anymore, but I don't fall into the trap of focusing on his recent form. 40+ goals for a midfielder is an awesome return, so it would seem weird he isn't in the top 50 players for the year. Up to you with that one but he's falling.

Agree with AG on Ablett. For me I think Watson is starting to suffer fatigue, he has been a tad slow and is spending much more time up forward than usual. I'd imagine that Cotchin is gaining hard yardage on him now. His past few weeks have been tremendous.

From the Frem v Rich game, Cotch and Tuck were our bests, Maric and Deledio were poor for their standards. Grigg was good again and should be in the unluckies and Rance was OK.

Scott Selwood arguably got another BOG, whilst Masten was around the mark too and has had a consistently good season, would bring him into the unluckies now. Shuey and Waters were also Top 5 for us, whilst Glass, Naitanui and Darling were effective, and Cox had good stats.
Gaff has been quieter the last few weeks, but still reached 20 disposals. He was one of our best last week against the cats though. His kicks to handball ratio seems to be closer to 50/50 now.

Season:
1. Scott Selwood
2. Andrew Gaff
3. Dean Cox
4. Chris Masten
5. Nick Naitanui (only behind Masten due to 2 missed games)
6. Darren Glass
7. Beau Waters (missed a few games)
8. Luke Shuey
9. Matt Priddis (missed a few games)
10. Jack Darling (43 goals as a 20yo, had to be our No.1 I50 target for much of the season too)

If I did the B&F right now, it would look like this. It's very close though, you could almost throw a blanket over them imo. Kerr also seems to be finding more consistency in performance as the season has gone on.

Stealing my thunder.
Certainly Ablett is now no. 1.
Not much between Watson and Beams.
Another blinder by Beams could jump him to 2nd.

I am unconvinced by your argument.
What do others think?
Is Jack worthy of top 50?

No had a good 5 week patch when Richmond was winning where he kicked 23 goals, outside of a that in most games has done sweet **** all besides being on end of a couple of goals a game with no impact on games.
