He had the yips, Franklin is highly criticized for his goal-kicking accuracy yet many rate him as the best player in the AFL. I wouldn't take much from his DE% as it was mainly from his missed shots. He was still one of our most influential players.

When Franklin has poor goal kicking games like 1.6 or 1.7 and 20 disposals and most would say he was beaten by his opponent and there is no way he would be ever marked more than a 6 or 7.

Cotchin had 15 disposals counted as ineffective so it wasn't just his goal kicking. He was good but not great, I would have marked him as a 7 as well

15 of his 31 possessions were not effective alot more than just 5.

I think he'll finish around the 50 mark. I'd have Masten almost equal with him due to playing every game, and Shuey missing a few. But Shuey is ofcourse the more dynamic player, and has made more on an impact in his good games this year.

On the votes, Gaff would also get a 6 or 7 from me. Clearly hurting and slowed from a small injury, but still got better as the game went on, finished with 17 kicks and 26 disposals, and a goal to boot, plus a few goal assists.

Kerr had an inconsistent 1st half of 2011, but his 2nd half has mainly been outstanding. Wouldnt say he is top 50 quite yet though.

That's a he'll of a lot of movement when it is the second last round , Boyd and Tuck had great games on weekend but I doubt many would think they have been better than Swan and Richards for example, and Griffen should not be in 50 on back of 2 good games, there are a few dogs players ahead of him for the year.

I find it amazing that a team can have two top ten players, a top twenty player and a top thirty player AND a potential Coleman medallist and still not finish in the top eight. That talent alone should get you into at least eighth. It's not like the players around them are that bad either.

A lot of the players are very young, and we've been 'unlucky' so to speak in some of our clashes this season - not to mention this year has been a lot more competitive than others with many teams trying to secure a finals position which is now all locked up.
However what I can say is that we've gotten more wins than the previous two years Hardwick has been coaching which is an improvement, in 2013 finals will hopefully be the aim ;)

The close losses - 2 points, 4 points, 4 points, 10 points, 10 points, 12 points.

On the flipside of that we did win one by 8 points and another by 12, but of our 8 other wins our average winning margin was 46 points. If our improvement continues next year we will finish in the 8.
