11-20:
11. Selwood
12. Jack
13. Boyd
14. Swallow
15. McPharlin
16. Sewell
17. Richards
18. Mitchell
19. Tuck
20. Naitanui

What do people think?

IMO McPharlin and Richards should be above Boyd, Swallow and Sewell and together as nothing separates them, clearly the best two KPD this year.

The last two names are 10+ positions too high, I doubt many think Naitanui has been the best ruckman this year, especially when the likes of Pavlich/Birchall etc still are not here

So you are suggesting Pavlich and Birchall round out the top 20?
Do others agree?

For me, I'd have it in the following order for those guys.
Pavlich
Naitanui
Birchall

I'm happy to open the question up re. Naitanui.
I have him about five or six places above Maric.
Then Jacobs and Cox later in the 50.
Has Naitanui been the best ruck this year?
Impact wise I have obviously rated his season the highest but I am happy to hear what others have to say.

I'm not sure. It's too hard doing these things without watching enough. At a pure guess for a top 20 based on what I've seen:

1. Ablett
2. Cotchin
3. Watson
4. Beams
5. Kennedy
6. Dangerfield
7. Thompson
8. Selwood
9. Swan
10. Deledio
11. Pendlebury
12. Jack
13. Mitchell
14. Richards
15. Franklin
16. McPharlin
17. Swallow
18. Pavlich
19. Walker
20. Sewell

Obviously I disagree.
Though I think there is a perfectly acceptable argument that he was.

They were close except I thought Sewell turned it over a bit while Mitchell was very good in his disposal

I'd have round about the same list, just in a different order.
Biasedly I'd have Swallow in about a 10th position. Does a lot of unseen running and is a clearance machine.
I'd also have Swan swap with Beams and then have beams swap with Kennedy.

Don't know how this has been overlooked, but Dal Santo has been nowhere near top 30 this year. Setting aside the high standards he's set himself to be rated against, his impact on games this year has been barely enough to scrape him into the top 50.

Although he plays for the bottom of the barrel team, I'd go Jones first, he's done the best week in week out and only missed one game. Then Sloane, also only missed one game and his much greater impact on the scoreboard puts him above Kelly.

Anyone else you'd have before them?

O'Keefe had a massive back half of the season, would have to be pushing close to top 30, probably slip him in just after Jones. Redden, Lewis, Tuck and Cox would have to be around the mark or in the low 30's as well. If you've got them around there then I'd be happy to leave it as is, just feel Dal Santo is the name that really sticks out.

Sounds good.
As a general question to everyone:
Tuck or Jones for no. 30?

They were close except I thought Sewell turned it over a bit while Mitchell was very good in his disposal

Wanted to say the same thing but have blown Mitchell's trumpet twice in this thread already so didn't want to do it again. Was at the game and as good as Sewell was, many of his kicks looked designed to take out low flying aircraft and did not favour the Hawthorn forwards at all - Collingwood predictably rebounding the other way. Mitchell sometimes took a bit longer with his disposal but really made sure it counted. The stats reflect this also - Sewell 32 disposals at 50% efficiency, Mitchell 31 disposals at 80% efficiency.

I would have:
10 - Mitchell
9- Sewell
8 - Cloke, Breust
7- Pendles, Franklin, Gibson
Swan and Krakouer just miss out.
