So that's all the games up to date.
Now I'm switching my system from total scores to score average.
This is to alleviate the inbalance of players missing games.
An important point to mention before I start posting teams is that players who have missed 1-3 games will not be penalized anything. But players who have missed 4-6 games will be penalized the difference between averages.
Let me give you an example.
Garrick Ibbotson has received a total of 52 pts over 8 games.
This is an average of 6.5pts per game.
However, he has missed 4 games.
So to balance him missing games I use this formula.
If he had played all 12 games he'd be on 78 pts (according to his average).
The halfway mark between 78pts and 52pts is 65pts.
Dividing this by 12 (the full amount of games) yields an average of 5.42.
So Ibbotson is penalized but only moderately.
By the end of the year if he has missed 5 games or less there will be no penalization (the above calculation will no longer apply, he will just receive his average).
If he has missed between 6-9 games a 50% penalization (like above) will be applied.
Does this make sense?
