Now I know some people are going to dislike my rankings for this game, but here goes:

Round 1 - Carl v Rich:
9 - Cotchin, Judd
8 - Deledio, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Tuck, Martin
7 - Vickery, Maric, Jamison, Batchelor, Walker, Jackson, Rance, Hampson
6 - McGuane, Conca, Edwards, Betts
5 - Henderson, Simpson, Carrazzo, Murphy
4 - Riewoldt
3 - McLean

Was prepared at 3 quarter time to give Deledio the 10.
But he had one touch by my reckoning in the last quarter.
And it's not like that quarter was unimportant.
Gibbs had a massive last quarter but had Judd as the midfielder that kept them in the game.
I gave a 4 to Riewoldt. Obviously didn't trouble the scorers but there was a couple of almost goals.
I realise he was playing a team game but Jamison beat him today.

Agree with basically all of it. I thought Vickery was our most influential player of the game, however, like Deledio, he had a horrendous last quarter. Thus I think he should get an 8 too.

Agree with most, but had Gibbs as BOG. Cotchin's disposal was poor, no way he was better than Gibbs who hit many more targets, was the driving force of Carlton all night and also kicked 2 goals. Yes Judd was huge from half time onwards, but Gibbs did it from start to finish.

Feels weird batting so fervently for Gibbs.

I reckon Gibbs should be up one. He was the leading disposal getter, and went at 74% disposal efficiency, compared to Cotchin's 48%. He had a nice number of tackles, inside fifties, rebound fifties, and he kicked 2 goals. He also lead Carlton for clearances.

I didn't realise Deledio only had 17 touches. Thought he had a lot more impact than a lot of players who had more disposals. But probably placed correctly in your rankings, imo.

It wasn't the disposals insomuch as he just didn't touch the ball in the last quarter.
This quarter was vital and he wasn't involved.

How does this look?

Yeah that looks pretty good. I personally had Gibbs BOG, and pretty easily, so he should at least be equally ranked with Cotchin and Judd, imo.

Yeah, like i said, i think you ranked him about right. I just hadn't looked at the stats, and thought he had 25+ disposals, as he seemed to have a fair amount of impact.

So you'd have the best two players on the ground Gibbs and Judd?
Cotchin's disposal in the last quarter was quite bad.

Yep, even with Richmond being the dominant team for the majority of the game. By no means am I saying that Cotch and Co had bad games, just Gibbs and Judd were a peg above the rest.

Only caught the Dogs game on radio but just initially does this look fair for the best couple?

10. Minson
9. Liberatore
8. Griffen, Goodes, Rockliff & Gia

A few there that are a bit off.

Griffen is easily deserving of 9.

Minson no where near a 10, more like an 8.

Higgins would be 8.

Rockliff was alright but not damaging. More of a 7 game than 8 personally.

No way Higgins is an 8. Did the majority of his work in junk time. 6 at best.

Not a fan of giving an 11.

I think you need to raise the standard for payers getting 10. There just seems to be inconsistency with what does and doesn't get a 10.

Clear BOG gets you a 10.
Clear WOG gets you a 0.
Approx. 5-7 games a year there will be a game where someone will play at a level beyond the standard BOG.

So I am revising my rankings so Ablett's game on Saturday night would classify as 10.

Hawthorn v Geelong:
10.
9. Mitchell
8. Enright, Selwood
7. Chapman, Sewell, Birchall
6. Lewis, Bartel, Schoenmakers, Taylor, Burgoyne, Rioli, Lonergan, Stokes, Mackie
5. Hill, Duncan, Gibson, Motlop, Varcoe, Podsiadly. Smedts
4. Franklin, Breust, Hawkins, Roughead, Hale
1. Gunston

Thoughts?
