Based on who i think will still be available at pick 5...

Absolutely Tapscott.

If he drops to the last couple in the top 10, by the end of 2010 he'll become the favourite topic of conversation on oversights in the draft, in the same vein as rich / selwood.

Riccuito incarnate. Yes please.

If he's taken, which i doubt, Rohan should be our next choice, looks a genuine gamebreaker.

lol yeah tru gear

anyway i think with our 1st pick we will take one of these dudes

gary rohan
dustin martin
kane lucas
ben cunnington

Impressed with Rohan, he has good speed, evasive, pretty good disposal and can mark.

Tapscott has a massive kick and is a very good size, could see him playing AFL next year. If only Edwards could kick like Tapscott...

Same here. He could be anything, based on the highlights we've had access to. I would be very happy if we drafted him. There certainly appears to be a group of very bright midfield prospects. Surely we can't go wrong!

I'd probably lean towards Tapscott largely because I trust kids that are solid moreso than kids that are on the skinny side.

But, I think there are a few we would be happy with. Would be nice to grab both. :p

can someone tell me what is the fascination with tapscott on the north board?

he does a few nice kicks in the youtube vid thats for sure but some of you seem to be under the impression that he is a gun midfielder or something

would not be in the mix for our pick i dont think

I like the one with a lot of Cunnington in the way he plays too! The reports on him can't be faulted either. Sounds like a real pro. The type who'd fit well with Adams, Ziebell and Spitter especially.............all being former leaders.

Rohan has pace to burn. Hmmmmmmmmm, interesting times.

As mentioned in another thread....Lewis Jetta from Swan Districts.
Mature age at 20, but the best player in the draft from WA.
The local clubs (especially WCE) are very aware of this guy (he went and played country footy for the last 2 years).
Played in Eagles scratchy this year and kicked 2 goals.
Saw him in a WAFL final today, very impressive.
Extremely quick, long kick and excellent decison maker.
Plays very much like Wellsy did in the WAFL and is similar sort of shape as a young Wells (maybe a little taller).

Would very much doubt he would go past the Eagles first pick.

I've seen Tapscott up close, and there is a reason there is so much interest in him.

He has one of the best kicks of a young kid i've ever seen. He has a superb footy brain and his footy skills are fantastic.

The reason he isn't getting talked about as a top 5 pick is because he still doesn't get enough of the footy during a game and he is still a bit one dimensional. Whoever picks him up (likely pick 5-12 somewhere), if they can develop him well and implement some speed and versatility into his game, then he could be anything.

So a kid with tremendous skills who doesn't get enough of the ball. Didn't we just de-list one of those?

Yeah well the guys on TAC Future Stars spoke to Timmy Harrington (Melbourne's List Manager for the Ages) and the following guys were discussed as the top targets.

Scully
Trengove
Morabito
Martin
Rohan

(I think) Shifter suggested that Martin was probably the best kick of the lot.

Yeah well I figured that out with the limited Youporn footage I've seen of all the drafting prospects.

And I know for a fact via my Brother's Mother that Bryce Lewis rates kicking skill bigtime so therefore Martin has a very good chance of being in Arden St colours next year.

For me it's gonna be either Martin or Rohan with hopefully Lewis Jetta still available come second pick cause WesternRoo has sold me on this guy.:thumbsu:

Footnote. We once again have pick 69 this season. Remember Ben Warren was picked up with pick 69 and therefore only good things can come of this.:thumbsu:

Not to blow my own trumpet or anything, but i've been on martin for a long time, good to see more people are seeing his potential, would be over the moon if we got him
