You can miss the lesser known players in Clubs if they are not brought to your attention. So if you don't mind, please introduce your best or Top 6 of your Club so I can get to know them better.

My choice of my Team:- (I have found this a hard task as I admire pretty much the whole team.)

1. Michael Voss - The consumate footballer. Hard-ball getter, covers the whole ground. Precision disposer. One of the best.

2. Simon Black - You will find him under packs delivering the ball with accuracy - average disposal - 28.

3. Jason Akermanis - fast and passionate. Loves his footy. All Australian many times.

4. Darryl White - His marks are from the heavens. The guy who constantly does the 1%.

5. Nigel Lappin - If your not looking he has taken the ball away for a goal - high disposal average every week.

6. Justin Leppitsch - When he has his head up, there is nothing better to watch. I love it when he takes the ball down from the back line right up to the forward line. Beautiful to watch.

Now, the Top 6 of the competition. These are my personal choices, not to offend anyone, just the ones I have taken notice of.

1. Michael Voss - Brisbane

2. Bryon Pickett - North Melbourne

3. Nathan Buckley - Collingwood

4. Masiti - Essendon

5. M. Primus - Port Adelaide

6. Camporeale - Carlton

(I apologise for spelling anyones name wrong)

I found this really hard as I could have picked another ten on top of the six named.

Geelongs top 6 [no particular order]

Steven King -Dominate ruckman

Ben Graham -can play back or forward.

Brenton Sanderson - most reliable defender.

Peter Riccardi - Explosive midfielder.

Matthew Scarlett - Good defender who can mind a small or tall player

Buddha Hocking - In & under the packs.

AFL best 6 [no order]

M Voss
M Lloyd
A McLeod
S Camporeale
S Black
M Primus

Hawthorn's top 6 in no particular order:

Hay - Best full back in the league at 21, vital for team balance

Chick - Hard at the footy, one of the best 1% players in the league

Thompson - Vital player to us because he can play ruck or forward, never gives up, future captain of the club

Crawford - Inspirational captain, gets plenty of the footy, runs all day

Holland - Tough one cause he hasn't played all year, but won out B&F (with Chick) last year and is a fantastic CHF. With him back in 2002 Hawthorn will be a lot stronger side.

Rawlings - Has stepped up in the past 18 months to be a key defender, his strength is one-grab marks.

Best 6 in the comp (in no particular order)
Voss
Hird
Buckley
Cousins
McLeod
Ratten

Hawthorn:
  1. Jonathan Hay: the premier key defender in the AFL
  2. Shane Crawford: Getting right back to his fearsome Brownlow best
  3. Nick Holland: the forgotten man of footy. Makes Hawthorn a four to five goal better side.
  4. Daniel Chick: I think my username sums up my feelings here. I love the guy.
  5. Jade Rawlings: Really come on to be a dominant defender this season. Hardly ever beaten.
  6. Nathan Thompson: Another man who is having a brilliant season. Can play ruck or forward, and we tend to win when he plays well.
AFL:
    1. James Hird: Just about the complete footballer.
    2. Michael Voss: Just about the complete footballer, but doesn't have a premiership medallion yet.
    3. Brett Ratten: The premier inside midfielder in the competition.
    4. Matthew Lloyd: Far and away the best player at his position in the league.
    5. Nathan Buckley: Performs at a consistently high level.
    6. Jonathan Hay: He really is that good.
Top 6 in the Comp

Hird
Ratten
McLeod
Lloyd
Buckley

At North Melbourne

1. Anthony Stevens (until his injury :( )
2. Shannon Grant
3. David King
4. Byron Pickett
5. Brent Harvey

....and herein lies the story of North's problem this year...our midfield and runners have done very well, but our key position players have either been injured or been inconsistent.

For the competition

1. Michael Voss
2. Andrew McLeod
3. Simon Black
4. Matthew Primus
5. Jason Johnson

1. Nathan Buckley: Nuff Said!

2. Shane O'Bree: Prolific ball winner, out of form at moment, but quiet achiever in the Misiti mould.

3. Nick Davis: One of the most underrated players going around, this kid can do anything! His skills will rival that of any player in the comp and that includes said number one above! Has played down back all year, yet trails Chrissy Tarrant by only a dozen goals or so!

4. Josh Fraser: Once he consistently plays games like he did against West Coast and becomes strong enough to dominate phisically in ruck and packs, he will be one of the top three players in the competition.

5. Chris Tarrant: For his height, the quickest player in the league and his marking prowess (past month excluded) is exceptional. Once he grows up a bit (mentally and a little more physically), he could be as good as a Matthew Lloyd. Remember, he is 21 in December!

6. James Clement/Jaz Molloy: Can't split these recruits, but both represent what we missed when we won our beloved spoon. Clement tall, quick utility with great allround skills. Molloy, tough hardnut with sweet FA skills, but is still a leader and gets plenty of the pill.

(Mike Sheehan Memorial Injury List: Scott Burns)

In the comp, in no particular order, but I'll put Bucks where he belongs:

Nathan Buckley
Brett Ratten
Michael Voss
Andrew McLeod
Matthew Primus
Jimmy Hird

GEELONG

In no particular order,

Ben Graham (When on song, he's hard to stop)

Peter Riccardi (Same as Graham)

Justin Murphy (Probably our most important midfielder)

Steven King (His work around the ground is sensational)

Brenton Sanderson (One of the most underrated players in the league)

Ronnie Burns (See Graham)

Best in the league, in no particular order...

Andrew McLeod
Michael Voss
James Hird
Nathan Buckley
Brett Ratten
Matthew Lloyd

1. Matthew Primus - the best ruckman in the competiton. Shocking disposal, but his tap work and bullocking in ruck contests has been a major reason why Port are up the top this season

2. Gavin Wanganeen - One of the all time greats. an ex Brownlow medallist who has revitalised his career after beign at the crossroads the last 2 seasons. Has played up forward kicking 37 goals this year, while also destroying Fremantle as a midfielder, and defeating James Hird and Darren Jarman playing in defence. The all round footballer

3. Warren Tredrea - Probably been the best Half Forward this season with 34 goals and the 2nd most marks in the comp. Very strong hands and an ever improving kick, this guy will be a superstar for years to come

4. Nick Stevens - One of the most skillful midfielders in the competition. Tends to get about 25-30 touches a game which are absolute class. Hardly ever makes a mistake and handles the tag very well.

5. Roger James - the unheralded hero. Not much publicity for this guy but he averages over 20 touches a game and plays his heart out. A very skillful utility who can kick goals, can stop small forwards and is a major part of our midfield

6. Fabian Francis - one of the better wingmen in the league with the ability to kick goals from 65m out. Doesnt get much publicity but Port would have been much worser off without Flashs sprints down the wings and his kicking out over the years.

I'm trying to go on this year only, which leaves out choices such as Hocking & Riccardi, who are no doubt in our 'best' players, but owing to circumstances this year have not been:-

Ben Graham
Steven King
Matt Scarlett
Justin Murphy
Cameron Ling
Darren Milburn

Having not seen any non-Geelong games live, it's a bit harder but IMHO the league's best 6 (from what I've seen on telly) :-

Michael Voss
Ben Cousins
Brett Ratten
James Hird
Matthew Primus
Andrew McLeod

No particular order in either case.
