Can understand people including North in the 8 - they've well and truly had our measure for the past couple of seasons. But it's not the case with all teams they play (didn't beat a top 8 team last year I believe).

Richmond? Not quite balanced enough yet, especially down back. Think they'll get found out.

Don't think Collingwood will get the flag either. Malthouse really had them purring, but with a different coach and an injury or two, think they could struggle to hit the same heights.

For me, the make up of the 8 will depend on how big a difference there is between the "haves" and the "have nots". If we end up with a top handful of teams, and then a gap to the rest, then anything could happen to the last couple of places. I would expect Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, WCE and Freemantle to make up a top 5. After that ....??

Also, gazing into my crystal ball, think there could be some surprises. One (at least) of St Kilda, Dogs or Essendon are going to fall in a heap, and one of the two new teams is going to do better than everyone expected.

Think we'll have a better idea at the end of the full NAB comp.
