With the hindsight of 3 rounds of footy, what do we think the top 8 will be at years end?? Adelaide have surely surged and Gold Coast dropped from pre-season expectations.

1. Hawks
2. Sydney
3. Freo
4. Port
5. Adelaide
6. Essendon

They're my certainties. Norf and Geelong would be faves to take the last 2 spots you'd imagine. You could argue we're in the next bracket with Richmond, Collingwood and gws who I actually rate as a sneaky chance.

Melbourne, st kilda, Gold Coast, Carlton, Brisbane, west coast no chance.

My certainties I'd swap Essendon & North. Last two spots I'd have Richmond and Essendon as most likely. A chance would be GWS & Geelong.
No chance would be Melbourne, Saints, Pies, GC, Carlton, Brisbane, & WC.
Us no idea, if we can be 3-3 after 6 I think there is a good chance we could get 10-11 wins injuries permitting.

I'm pretty happy with my call pre-season that Brisbane where being massively overrated, one poster even told me that they would win double the amount of games as us. Tried to make a bet on that but he never agreed.

Anyway I'd go the certanies as:

1. Hawks
2. Sydney
3. Freo
4. Port
5. Adelaide

Then teams like Essendon and North who should make it but still not 100% convinced. And that leaves GWS, Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood, Suns and us fighting for the last spot or two in the bottom bit if the 8. The rest Eagles, Melb, StK, Carlton and Brisbane are no chance and fighting for the spoon.

1. Sydney
2. Fremantle
3. Hawthorn
4. Port Adelaide
5. Essendon
6. North Melbourne
7. Adelaide
8. Richmond

For mine. The likes of Brisbane and Gold Coast will make a late charge but I struggle to see it being enough.

Be interesting to see if GWS can keep it up, and if Gold Coast can make a run at it.

I think there are almost 7 locks
Hawks Swans Port Crows Freo North Bombers

with 8th up for grabs
teams who could be around 8th Geelong, Richmond, Pies, GWS, West Coast (solely as they will win a few home games) us (dependent on injuries)

Won't fight for 8th
Gold Coast, Carlton, Melbourne, Saints, Brisbane.

I mentioned in another post I wasn't expecting to win any of the hawks crows swans games, but we still have Saints Demons and Giants before the bye could easily be 5-5 then after the bye we have Lions (ES) Saints (ES) Carlton (ES) Suns (Cairns) no reason we can't be 9-5

I think Adelaide and Collingwood make it in due to concessions in the draw - although Adelaide are flying at the moment and the whole Walker/Betts combination is working a treat.

You can never tell how injuries will impact a team's season, remembering that its more of a marathon than a sprint to the finals. I have Geelong finishing 9th in my full ladder and Richmond 10th. To be honest, 5 - 10 could be within 2 or 3 games of each other come September.

Dogs to finish 12th.

Exactly what I was thinking too. 8th place will just be making up the numbers, whichever of Richmond-Geelong-Collingwood-GWS-West Coast can sneak in there.
