Surprised Street Fighting Years isn't there, but I may be biased.

This Is Your Land still has that visceral impact on me after all these years.

this is an awesome thread. The variety of entries is outstanding. I have two bands I'd like to see added to the mix, but there's absolutely no way I could narrow either down to five albums, especially if you included live albums.
Rush had 19 studio and 11 live and I doubt I could pick five from the just the live let alone the studio.
Jethro Tull made 21 studio and 9 live. At least I think I could narrow it to studio albums, but seeing them live was better than any of those too.

Thanks for a GREAT thread!!!

8. Crest of a Knave
9. Broadsword and the Beast.
10. Heavy Horses

Parkway Drive only have 6 albums, so i'll just omit everybodys least favourite and rank them from best to least best.

1. Horizons
2. Killing With A Smile
3. Ire
4. Atlas
5. Deep Blue

All epic in their own way though.

Have you heard Mixing Colours that Brian Eno did with his brother Roger? Excellent stuff.

So a lot of my go-to bands didn't make it to 5 albums, but these two did. Lists subject to change, ask me again tomorrow:

Opeth:
Morningrise
Ghost Reveries
Watershed
My Arms, Your Hearse
Pale Communion

King Crimson:
Red
Islands
Discipline
In the Court of the Crimson King
Larks' Tongues in Aspic

I was tempted to do a John Zorn list, but it's way too much work. I could do a Miles Davis one, but it will basically consist of his 70s fusion/electric albums, so that's not very fun.
