So with Ross Lyon at the helm for two seasons now, what are your personal top five favourite wins with Ross as coach?

For me it goes something like:

1. vs. Geelong, Qualifying Final, 2013
2. vs. Sydney, Preliminary Final, 2013
3. vs. Geelong, Elimination Final, 2012
4. vs. West Coast, Round 19, 2012
5. vs. Collingwood, Round 7, 2013

Mine would be a similar list:

1) vs. Geelong, Qualifying Final 2013
2) vs. Geelong, Elimination Final 2012
3) vs. Sydney, Preliminary Final 2013
4) vs. North Melbourne at Etihad, Round 22, 2012 - No Pavlich, everyone expected us to lose/tank so that we could then go on the following week to win against Melbourne and therefore play a home Elimination Final against WCE. Loved the way we won. 8 goals kicked in the last quarter set us up for an even better win against Geelong in the EF.
5) vs. Collingwood, Round 7, 2013. Highly entertaining, won without our big guns in Pav, Sandi, Fyfe, Hill and Griffin went down early in the first quarter. Loved how RTB made a few changes in the last quarter to help us win the game. Highlights included: Walters on fire, Zac Dawson in the ruck and Ballantyne getting a free kick from Heath Shaw punching him in the nuts :thumbsu:

Geelong QF is obviously the club's best win ever. I'd have last years Elim win over the PF against the Swans, almost nobody gave us a chance in that game. It was quite funny to see the cocky Cats players arguing with each other at the break after Freo really jumped out of the blocks that night.

"LOOK AT ALL THE POINTING!!!!!!!" - BT

I do have a personal favorite;I shouted a Wet Toast mate to the derby where Pav outscored the entire coke-sniffing-ensemble;but that may not rate as great with Ross.
I was at the Sydney game where our crowd and team play awoke the AFL nation.
Qualifying and prelims 2012/2013 cover the others.

Geelong QF 2013
Geelong EF 2012 (pigeon pair with Round 23 v Melbourne the week before which lead to the anyone, anywhere motto)
North Melbourne R22 2012 - that last quarter blitz
Collingwood R7 2013 - that last quarter
North Melbourne R13 2013 - keep them to 20-something points and pinched Harvey 300 times!

(there you go, I've squeezed in 6 matches in my top 5)

I loved the way the cats went in all arrogant talking about how they could win it from outside the 4.

The umps tried their best to get them back into the game too.

QF v Geel - stuck it up all those cocky mofos. The RTB pressed afterwards was wonderful. This game got us into the GF - we were unlikely to lose at home to Syd.

EF v Geel - see above. I think this have us the belief for 2013. If McPharlin plays the week after vs Adelaide we win that too.

v Coll 2013 - injury depleted, hadn't beat coll in years. Fast start then reeled in and composed to finish the game off.

v Carl 2013 - may not rate a mention elsewhere but after this game I booked my GF flight. That last qtr was wonderful. I didn't give us much of a chance.

v NM 2012 - last qtr was stunning after they kicked 2 quick ones to get back in it. No Pav too and we kicked 20 off goals.

Agree 100% with your list - the thrashing of WCE where Pav outscored them would come in 6th for me.

The North Melbourne and Geelong (Rd 1) games from 2012, as people have mentioned, were both really good as well. It's been a good two years hasn't it? Hopefully next year is even better...

I am very surprised no one mentioned this.... This specific game in my opinion was a defining moment in Freos history, I will explain that shortly.

The game I am talking about was round 4, 2012. The opponent was the Saints at docklands. Ross Lyon was going to get a hostile reception for walking out of the saints. He was escorted by 2 security guards too. It was a great game. I reckon Stephen Hill played one of his best games for freo that night. He had a brilliant 4th quarter. Freo won this game, against the odds by 13 points.

To show you all how important this game was... Look at the ladder with the 7th, 8th and 9th placed sides of 2012...

7th Fremantle 14 wins, 8 losses, 115.67%
8th North 14 wins, 8 losses, 112.49%
9th Saints 12 wins, 10 losses, 123.33%

Now had the saints won that round 4 game, Saints would of taken our 7th spot and Freo would of got 9th.

Yes in so many ways.

Freo wouldn't have been able to get valuable finals experience and that was a sign of docklands dominance from Freo.

QF v Geelong this year
EF v Geelong last year
Last years victories against the Eagles, St Kilda and North Melbourne.
Win over Port Adelaide this year.

Our wins last year against the Saints at Etihad, Richmond at the MCG, Melbourne in Melbourne and North in Melbourne were significant as they were major bogey assignments for the club in recent times.

1. Geelongv Freo elimination final ,2012 (watching us smash one of the best teams ever for a quarter and a half this was also the first really great win in our clubs history)
2. Nth Melbourne v Freo Round 22, 2012(This showed that we were for real after beating a bunch of poor teams, also everyone though we would lose this and Carlton would get in to the finals then Carlton lost and we showed up and smashed North anyway)
3. Geelong v Freo Qualifying Final ,2013
4. Sydney v Freo Prelim ,2013(only because of the occasion fairly easy win)
5. Freo v Collingwood round 7, 2013(Plenty of players out and we still got the win)
