Rioli is the most overated footballer in the Aps. He only gets a rap because of the legendary Maurice Rioli and that other Rioli from essendon who is a complete hack.
RIOLI=OVERATED

aaaahahahaha, are u serious, im tipping u havent seen him play. he's in year 10 for ********s sake and he rips apart the game on his day. he has nothing on him but is blisteringly quick and has awesome skills. you are a tool to bring up MAurice Rioli, u prbly havent seen him play either. draft for the 2008 season will have RIoli in the top ten

another laughable suggestion, that no scotch player is in there. ever heard of smith, rioli or ainger?

Ur clueless mate he kicks anyones arse he is a gun get over it your opinion is crap. He will go father son so you should shut your mouth

Im sorry if im not one of Hawkins's school buddies, like you obviously are. You obviously have a fairly biased opinion or maybe its just the fact the soap gets dropped in your showers too often. Hawkins is crap and he will never play AFL.

you are a complete drop kick. Hawkins is practically signed up to geelong, despite the game against scotch were no grammar boys performed. what evidence to you have to suggest he wouldnt???

I'm surprised at that. To be assured of someone like Hawkins under the father/son rule, Geelong are drooling at the prospects of him lining up on their forward line.

MY top 10:

1) Ellis
2) Murray
3) Hawkins
4) Rioli
5) Eddy
6) Plymin
7) Kennedy
8) Cain
9) McGuiness
10) Fleming

notable mentions to: ainger, rebbaschini, darvell, smith,

That is a very bad top 10 even with all your variables, "can/has/had". Paule and Morrison just scrape into the top 20, let alone top 10. Where's Kennedy, Laidlaw, Smith and Plymin?

After much thought and consideration i've decided to post my top 10 APS players of season 2005, please note that they do not include any Haileybury players as i have not seen them in action this season.

1. Ellis (MGS)
2. Ainger (Scotch)
3. Hawkins (MGS)
4. Laidlaw (Carey)
5. Kennedy (Xavier)
6. Cain (St. Kevins)
7. Eddy (Caulfield)
8. Rioli (Scotch)
9. McGuiness (Brighton)
10. Smith (Scotch)

Posted this before i'd seen Haileybury play this year. So here is my revised top 10. Very tough and there will be noticeable omissions.

1.Ellis (MGS)
2.Murray (Haileybury)
3.Ainger (Scotch)
4.Hawkins (MGS)
5.Cain (St Kevins)
6.Kennedy (Xavier)
7.Eddy (Caulfield)
8.Fleming(Haileybury)
9.Rioli (Scotch)
10.Laidlaw (Carey)

Close:Smith,Raso,McGuiness,Darvell and Plymin.
Chosen to flip Cain and Kennedy based on hindsight.

Paule burst through the packs with his pace and is the only player in the APS that can do it. As for Laidlaw, he can only use one side of his body. Smith was playing without an opponent for most of the year. Kennedy unlucky to miss out. And Plymin, probably unlucky as well.

mate there's a reason he was playing without an opponent, he's too ********ing good, noone can tag him. He'll play APS side for sure and will captain the thing next year

some players are loyal and dedicated to their teams. being the captain he has a huge role to play and he is easily brightons best player, although injured he played both games because the team needed him, it was totally his decision. You can call it stupid but he's definately got the heart and passion mate

well it was unlucky and wrong but smith missed out on APS first selection

he oubviously had an operation, but he did it because he has guts and will do anything for his team mates even out his own personal health on the line, not only should be in the aps but should captain, best bloke ever and a gun footballer

Has everyone forgotten Jono Mecuri??? Gun follower/forward with the build, skills and speed to make the APS side. Been one of Xavs most consistent this season playing every game and should be a definite candidate for XC b&f. Anyone know of him??
