Torney out for 6 weeks!

I might be in the outer here, but I actually think our depth outside of our best-22 is pretty decent. The problem in my mind is that we don't have enough genuine stars or elite players within our best-22. I think our problem is that we have too many so-so serviceable players (anywhere from positions 12-30 on our list), and not enough genuinely great players.

Consider this...

Here's a list of the 10 next best players outside my best-22 for the AFC: Ladhams, Skipworth, S.Stevens, Doughty, Mattner, Shirley, Bock, Van Berlo, Schuback, Jericho. All have played some reasonable AFL footy and are all ready to go.

Compare this with Brisbane's best 10, outside their best-22: Corrie, McLaren, MacDonald, Brennan, Adcock, Selwood, Logan, Merrett, Moody, Ryswyk. All these blokes may have a future, but in terms of immediate depth...I'd rather have our bunch any day.

Here's the Power's for interest sake: Walsh, Salopek, Cochrane, Poulton, White, Shattock, Surjan, Pettigrew, Chaplin, Symes. Not bad, but not THAT much better than ours in terms of an immediate call-up.

Thoughts???

Our squad graph falls away early (about #10).....but then maintains through to aboout 32 before dipping again...whereas other sides have more of a gradual fall to say #22 - then fall away to below our line.

So our depth is in our squad....just not in our first 22......

That's a tough break for Torney and for the team.

What are your thoughts re: the 1st round team?

I know Goody is out suspended + Torney is now out + Hart/Thommo would be highly unlikely. So, that's 4 first-teamers.

Doughty & Biglands will probably be available. Dunno' whether that's good or bad?

It would be nice to start a bleedin' season without any injury probs...just ONCE!!!!

not a bad side although Doughty wont play....and I would push Ladhams, Chewy, and Skippy outside the squad
