Announcement:
After poor ratings across the eastern seaboard during season 1 of Dancing On Ice, Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean will bring their Ice spectacular to Perth being sponsored by the West Coast Eagles FC.
When the ice skating duo approached the West Coast Eagles they were overwhelmed by the support and encouragement they received from the playing group.
Jane Torvill was quoted as saying, "All of the lads at the West Coast were just so excited about the prospect of our Ice Extravaganza I just couldn't believe it. Ever since we announced it I must have had a 1000 beeper messages and sms from the lads - I just couldn't believe how excited they were to get going. As you know Olympic athletes start training most days between 4.00 and 5.00 am in the morning but these guys were so excited to going it was unbelievable. I'm not lying when I say that I was getting all these messages between to 2.00 and 3.00 am Perth time every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In fact alot of the boys were calling me up from the pub, that's just how keen they were to get onto the ice. Needless to say Christopher and myself are very excited. They didn't get this excited about our Ice show in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. These West Coast boys are something else"
Since this quote the Ice Spectacular has now sold out for the next four years, but curiously sales to the general public have been minimal with the majority being snapped by the West Coast Playing Group.
Stay tuned for more updates.
