I posed a question somewhere but did Daniel Levy REALLY say somewhere over the years that Tottenham Hotspur is simply a business decision for ENIC and poses no real value in actually winning silverware?
Not sure if he has said it. But he sure has acted that way

4-6 is not where we were meant to be settled into the new stadium or were under Poch in the old one/Wembley

Conte or Levy have to go long term - surely?
Interesting question.

They won't work together. Called it ballsy and interesting when Levy appointed him as it will prove once and for all that billionaire Joe and his investment company aren't interested in winning. They hired a serial winner, but a winner who demands quality. They haven't got the balls or don't value the investment in fully backing him with Boehly like funds to win. Boehly and Lewis both worth 5b, so the money is there. Just on yachts, paintings and stolen Argentinian land.

Conte has no plan B. Sticks to this ridiculous 343 because we have quality attackers but not enough good midfielders. Yet the 2 CMs get overrun and beaten by nearly every PL midfield opponent. But he sticks with it because we have Kane and Son who are quality, and Richarlison and Kulusevski probably our next best 2 players in the squad. To play 352 means 2 of our best 5 players don't start. Conte would work very well if we got bought by the Qataris or another billionaire willing to throw money into the squad. But he has had Paratici half do it but get in okay players like Bissouma but we didn't somehow realise tactically can't play in a 2 man midfield, young players who Conte doesn't trust in Gil and Spence & then two good buys in Perisic (leading our assists) and Richarlison.

Crazy to think that someone like Sessengon who joined in August 2018 as an 18 year old under Mauricio Pochettino, will be onto his 5th manager in as many years.

Spurs have had a pretty good squad since Poch back in 2015/16 - their "golden era" so to speak.

Kane & Son have 2-3 more seasons left in them, not sure how easy it will be to replace them. They are similar in Liverpool who had pretty much the same side mostly for 5-6 years that now needs a rebuild.

Perisic is a good buy but not the answer long term. Richarlison could take over from Sonny long term potentially.

Spurs were always just probably 1 or 2 (possibly 3) marquee periods short of winning some serious silverware in the time period you alloted
Not sure if they need a total rebuild, bur certain a squad refresh and more youth orientated injection like what Arsenal have so superbly done.

Conte probably ain't the right gaffer to see that through though

Replacing Kane/Son in a few years time will be difficult.

Maybe Levy will start throwing in paintings during transfer negotiations.

I am sure you would know this - what was the club valuation when ENIC took over majority control of Spurs vs where it is at now? Owners like Lewis & co are probably willing to spend up big on transfer fees if it means success and further appreciation of the club's value. With FSG they have reached a point with club valuation (approx 3.5bn - purchase price just 300m due to RBS obligation on previous owners to sell) where there are no appreciable returns on significant further investment unless there is no choice to do so. I suspect a similar scenario is playing out with ENIC.

They bought the club for about 20m iirc. Got valued recently at 2.7b. Over the 21 years enic have invested 150m into the club, with the club self sufficient apart from that one off. Levy has also been paid beteeen 50-60m with his role as club chairmen over the 21years.

They stand to make a 2.7b return on 120m of their own money, with very little if not nothing to show for it as a football team. When they do cash in they'll be walking away with roughly £25 for every £1 they put in over the journey.

Spurs could do well to model themselves on Arsenal. Bring some quality youf through with astute transfer business and get the most out of existing squad members. Remove toxic squad members even if it means taking a big hit (Auba, Pepe etc).
You mean what Poch did with Kane, Townsend, Mason, Kaboul, Lennon and Adebayor? We copied their post Emirates path of nothingness. And they've copied our how to improve and be great on the pitch without competing with the biggest clubs for transfers

Werent ENIC a minority shareholder before eventually taking over?

On a pure investment side of things they've absolutely nailed it. Seen their investment grow 25 fold without having to put money into the on field side of things at all.

Tifo had a story recently about the stadium which has financing costs of roughly 20m a season. Secured debt at a great rate thru to 2051 too. These interest costs are more than covered if Levy ever manages a naming rights sponsor alone. And is already half covered with the NFL deal, with concerts and nearly tripling our matchday income going to mean the 2022 results show what should be huge profits even after interest cost.

So the I in ENIC is being absolutely nailed. Unfortunately it's an F for Failure in Football

Only good thing I could say about them is they don't have the vanity to do something like that.

They know it would probably incite the masses too much. I don't think we are far off Levy and his family not being able to sit in the stands anymore

I wouldn't say we are a top 6 club after this season and with how Newcastle are heading. Did you vote for every single starter for us ;)
I just put the 6 players most likely to start for Spurs.

Did say in the OP non spurs fans of top 6 clubs who starts regularly at your club? Who do you think gets into your side?

Romero next VVD? Kane obviously. Maybe your midfield is so bad even one of ours could get a run there, Bentancur our best imo. That would be it.
