I hate to go all Silent Alarm here but when did Toxic Fat become such a problem.

We get bombarded with these ads here in WA during the footy, not sure if it's the same in other states.

Ads like these.





Nothing worse than these disgusting ads coming on when you're trying to eat a burger during the footy.

And don't get me started on the anti smoking and anti booze ads during the footy, bloody fun police.

Something needs to be done about this, why can't we just drink,smoke and eat fast food in bloody peace.

Cut down on my sugar intake 18 months back

Gave up the daily bakery, iced coffees, candy, chocolate, ice cream... started checking labels on all the items i bought for sugar content, now that's an eye opener!

End result...I feel more alert and healthy

Now when i have anything sugary/sweet i can only eat about a quarter of teh same portion i used to eat before i gave up sugar

I do roll my eyes at the hyperbole in some of the smoking ads in particular, but they do seem to be effective. And something definitely needs to happen regarding the rate of obesity in this country. It's killing the healthcare system.

However the complex factors surrounding weight gain and weight loss are fairly poorly understood by the medical fraternity, let alone Joe Public. Leaning into reductive stereotypes about the problem probably isn't the best solution.

I'm not saying obesity isn't a problem but they just bombard us with these disgusting ads here especially during the footy and it's bloody annoying.

I usually have to change the channel when they come on as they piss me off so much and then I forget I've changed channels and end up missing footy.

I've even seen them play these toxic fat ads twice in the same f***ing ad break, talk about overkill.

We all know that junk food is bad for us we don't need to be reminded about it every f***ing 5 minutes.

Remember once the campaigners did this big walk through Perth. I was working in the city at the time. Their banners were completely confusing, contradictory messages about immigration (this is around the Peter Dutton thing). This girl I worked with proceeded to tell me how they wanted mass migration and I was like 'uh... white South Africans do? really?' and she couldn't wrap her head around the fact they were actually racist dickheads who were kicked out of Holland, kicked out of Africa, now here.

Then again this girl would routinely 'be vigilant' around Aboriginal people so she was a campaigner, basically, anyway. And dumb.

There was a South African bloke that turned up at our high school in about year 9, his family migrated to Perth from South Africa.

He wasn't a bad bloke and we were kind of mates with him but he still had that racist South African mentality ingrained in him.

Shortly after he arrived here he was in the city when some local indigenous blokes crossed his path, he called them "f***ing kaffirs" and they beat the shit out of him, he learnt his lesson that day that you can't treat the black people here the same way you do in South Africa.

I don't actually eat burgers that often or fast food in general but it still doesn't make the ads any less disgusting or annoying.

I know they like to try shock value tactics with these types of ads to make you notice them but when they show them so often they really start to wear thin.
