To all of the TPFP posters migrating over here, sorry for your loss and I hope you can all find a new home on these boards.

I visited TPFP a couple times but it never really clicked with me, perhaps because I started on Bigfooty; but just from reading this thread I am rapidly gaining an appreciation for the depth and history behind the site and (especially) the priceless history it captures.

I'd love to hear from a couple of the more prominent posters from TPFP on one of the podcasts to give some of us more ignorant posters an education on the site. No doubt the addition of so many strong posters will only strengthen Bigfooty and noone can say we don't all have similar interests :)

Hi,was a member on tpfp for many years ,I was in shock this morning when I found out. A lot of passionate port people on that site , but I'm grate full to have this site now , was a member here a few years back here , but let it lapse , hopefully heaps of tpfp regulars make the move swell , cheers.

I'm just glad this happened now and not in 2011. An influx of Brettbert/Matt Thomas/Tom Logan (although Logan improved significantly last year to his credit) loving Primus apologists during those dark times might have driven me totally mad.

It all seems to be happening at the same time , the move to AO , the demise of the Maggie's as we knew them , juniors and zones about to go , and now the end of Tpfp ! , end of and start of era's , or am I overreacting ? , cheers.

Change is something that will happen if we like it or not , 95% of the time its positive , its the 5% that sometimes upsets people the most.
 
Feels like the house has burnt down. Can always find another place to live but lost all the valuables. Just gutted.

To Vi and Darryl, I wish you all the best. You gave me a reason to own a computer, but more importantly you gave me an opportunity to make a big network of friends to come and visit and watch footy with, on my trips back home. TPFP was always the first port of call when I pressed the 'on' button, not sure how long until it really sinks in. Get well soon Vi, no doubt we will catch up at AAMI ... oops ...... AO some time in the future. Thank you for everything.

Oh well, here we go trying to re-establish I guess? Feels great to see many familiar names, eases the pain a bit.

Yep, started this thread, however wilbur 15 is my brother-in-law's account that we sort of shared over the last couple of years, whenever we felt the need to come and have a look here, on the odd occasion. He will continue to use that account, started my own as it seems we might be here for some time ...

I used to post a lot over there ... did get banned back in the 'end of choco' days ...
and never could get back on ...

Altho I did register again last year only to check some old PACS pics (from 1960s/70s) that an Outer Army committee guy put up there...hope he joins up here?

They had lost of history stuff ... sad if that's all lost.

We will know if/when 1954 has arrived - even if under a different user name - because there will be talk of "Charlie" Chaplin, Malted Mick-House, and some anti-ALP stuff :D

The other bloke who I was trying to think of, earlier in this thread, was (I think) "Paraport".

Gee end of "Choco " days , brings back some bad memories ! You were not alone in getting into trouble , I thought that the Tpfp was taking the party line at the time , and backed the establishment over the majority of members , thereafter my interest died off somewhat . Anyhow a new board , and start for most of us on BF , so I hope many ex Tpfp members come across.
