Possibly wrong thread but are we going to see anything more from the Essendon debacle ? I understand a number of players were named today ? Are the AFL/ ASADA serious or have we seen the mini soap opera play its last show ?

Edit> As someone with fairly strong family ties to Essendon, I am pretty peeved at both the bullshit they pulled along with how the AFL have handled it.

One thing I thought was odd about tpfp was that you weren't allowed to mention big footy there. Plus I like the 'like' function here. It's more personal as you know if anyone agrees or if ya just talkin shite. On tpfp it relied on people responding which was mostly when people opposed.

But that said, tpfp was great in its day and I'm extremely grateful for all vi and mark did

I sorta understand why the need to blacklist all Big Footy talk there. Put it this way it was almost identical to the slinging matches between the Port/Crow board here, how if someone mentioned BF over there someone would come here saying so & so said this & this then they would cop a lot of grief from people they banned here.

All I know is that the whole thing was way over the top but then again I wasn't into footy when it all hit off. I always had a 'love not war' type of attitude & thought all Port people were just that, there were a few instances that don't need to be mentioned that probably should never have happened.

I always thought it was a massive shame both communities couldn't coexist & made mention of that several times.

No, it is the same name as Samantha's cousin. Creighton called me by my real name regularly on TPFP. one of my best friends spars with my husband just like Endora & darrin did. Once she forgot his name & asked me where Bozo was.

I could tell you were Samantha Stevens by the way you post.

I remember you asking me a few tips on fantasy footy, if you still need any help with stuff like that just tag my name in one of the threads here. I'm looking forward to the comps this year.

My TPFP user name was Samantha Stevens, my mum is an avid fan of the show Bewitched & she named me after a character on the show, not Samantha. I signed up during dark days in our club's history when I was watching an episode of Bewitched on GO. I did joke during those dark days that a twitch of the nose could have reversed the 2007 Grand Final or that loss against Gold Coast.

It seems I already know the vast majority of posters on here from TPFP whether they be current or former posters, only with the different usernames it's as if I didn't. I can't remember everyone's new name/old name so it's a great idea.

I'm surprised they still had members to notice it closing. For all the fun we make of trolls from other teams, one of the best things about Bigfooty is the genuine discussion, including opposing viewpoints from other clubs supporters. TPFP was the definition of if you didn't think when the club shitted on a plate it was swiss chocolate you were out. Criticism of coaches or players was traitorous. If every fan and worse people at the club were like the ones running that site, we'd still have either Choco or Primus as coach and anyone who wouldn't agree we were the best 4-18 side ever would deserve their tarring and feathering.

Even I got rather heated & stuck into him about that. I'm pretty patriotic though I'd never barrack for a rival country against our own that's as bloody un-Australian as it gets.

He didn't make any friends with those opinions, it's not very often where Harro was backing the majority opinion in those debates but he was then. I didn't mind Harro tbh.

Now that I do remember. That was weird. I also remember a few of us stirred him about his car too, suggesting that it perhaps lacked a bit of 'masculinity'.

Another idea to help identify the posters with new names could be to use the same or similar avatar.
