However don't just come on and outwardly say "I hate this site", because that won't be any good for you, and it won't do any good for us. Therefore it's pointless.

We know some of you are grieving from your loss of TPFP, but sometimes change comes suddenly and you either adapt or you get left behind, the same attitude the club has taken the last few years to get us back on track. TPFP will not come back, the hierarchy there would never relinquish the website name or it's content to anyone else. This is part of the reason they outwardly closed it.

So please, feel welcome here. If you don't have anything positive to post about bigfooty, simply don't post. Have a lurk for a while, then when you feel comfortable make a post in a thread. I just urge you all to give it time and have an open mind, especially to the banter.

lol, scythe buttercorn. I remember that came to be when we were playing a "guess the player name from these set of pictures" game. Someone posted a Cane and some Corn, it was obvious that it was Kane Cornes, but the Cane was in the shape of a Scythe, and the Corn was Buttered. So I replied "Scythe Buttercorn", then Tribey made that epic picture of Kane with a Scythe and some buttered Corn, in space, with the earth as a backdrop.

Yep it's great makes it a lot easier to settle in so hopefully Trebor & everyone else gives it a chance before deciding if it's for them or not.

I have a feeling once the season proper starts it'll be a lot easier for everyone to get together & talk football.

You should get in on a few of the discussion threads Oz we'd like to hear your opinions on various topics. I made the cricket thread in hope that it'd break the ice a little for those that liked to post in the old TPFP cricket thread.

yeah just starting to find my way around here now.
 
Is there some way to filter the threads in order of latest post (like was the case on TPFP)... it makes it easier to keep up with current conversations and topics!!
 
to those who are wondering or hoping that TPFP could be handed to new administrators, well you can let go of that dream.

As i mentioned earlier myself (and 3 mates) ran a 10,000 user website called Rave Adelaide. We ran this thing for a good 5-6 years and put many many hours into running it.

When we decided that we were done with it there was NEVER any discussion about handing it over to anyone. We even had offers to sell the site to new owners which we declined.

A forum becomes your baby. Especially as Vi and Mark ran it for so many years. Giving your baby to someone else is just not an option

TPFP is gone. Embrace change and move with it. We really are a great community here and embrace new people.

Remember we are all mad Port supporters too
