Geez it feels like I am in the parallel Seinfeld universe, in the wrong diner but with the same people, and its humbling to see the old folk all coming over to the one place !!
Its ROBBO here guys, finally found you all. Just read thru 15 of these pages of this thread and its an interesting read, REH was banned ?? WOW !!!
Good to see old names like blissid and B0ydman etc, even you nivek, wondered where where you all got to.
I too was shocked to see TPFP go down, then I got angry, then sad, then frustrated, but I loved it, was always comfortable there and appreciated Vi and Mark's terrific work, we'd posted there since 2002 or 2003. I hope you guys stick up a tribute page with all the great details you gathered over the years.
In my few days on this site, I must admit, I don't mind BigFooty, the humor, awesome reviews, great chat and interesting facts are as good if not better than what we got on TPFP. Now we are all in one place, should make it a great place to visit for all.

so will we ever get any kind of explanation as to why so many people were randomly banned for no reason? will the ex-owner of TPFP ever explain their crazy nazi ways? we the Port Adelaide people deserve an explanation.

Agreed that an explanation would have been better than the plug being pulled overnight, but the administrators of the site were obviously feeling stressed.

Personally I never experienced any ` nazi ways ' in my 9 or 10 years as a member, and regular poster.

I disagree with the poster who suggested discussions re Choco were curtailed on TPFP ( or words to that effect ).
The obvious Chocophiles aside, there was much robust debate, and a large number of the regular posters ( possibly as high as 2/3rds ) knew he had run his race by the middle of the 2009 season, and posted accordingly.

I agree '54, apart from an initial 24 hour ban when I was a newbie...I never experienced a ban. And I myself started some very heated discussions about Choco, and also a heated debate with his alleged sister. I was surprised to have read posts here in the past referring to TPFP as having a ban on anti choco posts. I for one never experienced that

As I've said, I never ever got banned. I did get a few posts deleted. Too long ago to remember what I said in them other than I contacted Vi after one of my posts disappeared. The reason? I'd mentioned I'd read something here.

After that I would just say I'd read something "elsewhere". Never had a post deleted or received a warning for anything I said discussing football.

I know Vi was extremely concerned about litigation and would assume many of the posts that were deleted were due to that. Not that they may have actually been libelous but it was a zero risk policy so some people may have had posts deleted they saw no issue with but the admins had concerns regarding.

As I never posted in game day threads here prior to TPFP closing I've noticed I struggle to keep up with the game day thread here. Maybe home games won't be so bad but last game I found myself spending too much time reading because there were so many posts. I gave up and just watched the game. With the amount of people here we really could do with a live chat board so all posts are updated automatically because hitting F5 needs to be done every 20-30 seconds or you find yourself with 3 pages to read to catch up!

No explanation is needed for the way they chose to run the site or who they allowed to post there. They ran it the way they wanted to run it and thats all the explanation needed.
