We may need to trade quality at some point. I don't think he will go anywhere and hope he doesn't I simply said we should see what we can get.

The rest of the list... Trade away! I would have added D Pearce but I don't think we would get anything for him! Hopeless... It wasn't surprising at all that he was crap tonight.

Mayne needs to go down back and Crozier needs more game time. I think he's harshly treated. He can ACTUALLY kick clutch goals and set shots when given the opportunity.

Suban is a below average afl
Footballer.
Mdb has been pretty good in this finals series but his weaknesses emphasise our teams weaknesses. His disposal by foot is average at best but mostly poor.

Where exactly do you see improvement coming from?

Barlow has been pushed out of the midfield and is playing forward, i think hes perfect trade bait for teams like GC and GWS.

Suban is only " Below AFL Average" because this board constantly says so and because you actually believe it.

MDB has had a great year when he hasn't been sub because he ISN'T an impact sub player. Have you seen his tackling and pressure? His attack on the ball is among the best in the team and he played great tonight like he always does when he starts.

Do realise Pearce was traded to Freo for homesickness? Hardly going to trade him back out again..

So what are you thinking will get it done? I have a feeling they'll be wanting your 2016 first rounder just to kick off discussions and then they'll want more. McCarthy is two years younger than Taberner but he seems to be further along in his development. Having said that, McCarthy is playing as a second key forward to Jeremy Cameron which means he's getting the second best defender each week and, as a result, quite a bit of space to lead. He seems to be more of a leading forward than a prolific one-on-one overhead marker of the ball. Does that fit in with Freo's current forward structure? Losing Pav obviously puts a lot of pressure on McCarthy if he does choose to become a Docker in 2016. Can you really put that kind of pressure on a 20-year-old and expect him to perform? All questions that can't be answered until it actually happens but I think it must be said that his environment at Fremantle would be vastly different to that of western Sydney. He goes from living in complete anonymity to being unable to get out of the house without being mobbed. You go from playing in front of 8000 people to regular crowds of 35k every week in Perth. Then you start to wonder how he'll handle the pressure and expectations of being the assumed second coming of Matthew Pavlich.

Having said all that, it's not like Freo has KPFs lining up to join them. Sometimes you have to take what you can get, even if it costs you a fair bit.

D Pearce wasn't home sick. Wasn't traded. He was a free agent.

I said I didn't think we would. Just that I wished we would. Were you surprised he played so poorly tonight?

So Suban or MDB stay due to 'heart' and you have Barlow as one to go. See that's where your argument falls down.

Rubbish! 4 disposals in 3.5 quarters in the first final.

Tell me who on the Hawks team you would take him over?

He plays midfield and continually gets around 14-16 possessions. Has the odd game around 20 and the odd game with under ten. His disposal under pressure is poor and he isn't improving.

Tell me how he isn't below average? Look at his numbers and impact on games and then reply.

Next you'll be saying silvagni is a top line defender.

Ross all year has chosen experience over youth and with beloved Dawson back no chance Pearce would be in team.

Disagree. The skeptics aren't skeptical about his on field ability, but the trading away of draft picks on a player who is a very high risk of being banished for off field offences.
