Which position is Trengrove a walk up start?
Why did we recruit him?
Who is responsible for paying 500k
Cast offs unless their A graders like Mitchell or Buddy Sbould never demand so much.
If our recruiters are being overwhelmed ,by free agency they are not doing the club service.
500k is the old 350k under the new cap.

I would suggest Trengove is a walk up start as a FB, considering Adams has played about 10 games so far because of injury.

I'm assuming it went down something like this:
Beveridge and Macartney go after and land Trengove
Dalrymple wants Naughton, but Bev doesn't (has been mentioned on here)
Naughton is drafted, hence the glut of talls.
(Dalrymple and Macartney leave)
Trengove trains in all positions over the preseason (as stated by himself), but as Naughton shows he is ready to go, starts playing Ruck/Forward.
Morris and Adams both injured early, means Trengove is shifted back in round 2.

Well written.Suppose injuries don't
help.l reckon they would like less talls and more mids at the moment.

Dunks is an interesting one . Think long term I'd like to see him model his game off of Sydney's Kennedy. Neither are great kicks but both are monsters and Kennedy is a reasonable kick now after years of work.
I’m big on Dunkley the midfielder, he’s gonna he a bull.

Has height, contested marking and I honestly don’t think he’s a bad kick. Just when it goes bad, it goes really bad.

Would much rather him in the midfield and McLean forward, and I rate McLean as a star so that’s saying something..

We are in a great position moving forward with our recruiting...first time in living memory the club has quality talls both back and forward.
Our next 2 drafts we can add 6 mids to go with our class already there.

Maybe the boys can put a word in after a couple years

Should we target some Tiger cubs who may seek more opportunity:
Connor Menadue 187 cm and 80 kg and
Oleg Markov 188 cm and 80 kg
In my humble opinion they are both the perfect additions having
got their height to weight in the GO zone.
What do people think ?

In my view, we need three things. Kicking skills, leg speed and experience. Ideally we bring in someone with all three. I don't really think we should trade to get someone with only one of those three attributes. May as well draft someone instead.

Neither of those guys have played 50 games yet have they ? Do we need to get less experienced and younger at this stage ?? That would be my concern...

I can only think of liam duggan as a player I'd consider.

Again I'll say it, I am a little more comfortable with the appointment of Nick Austin. Richmond have built a pretty fine list. I think we should poach their medical staff and sports science team next.

Weitering is starting to smell like a bust for a #1 pick aswell.

Blowing those high first rounders really hurts. They're meant to be guys you build around and he's only ever looked like an adequate 3rd defender so far.
Future superstar. No chance he ends up a bust

After 6 rounds, Western Bulldogs Rookie Billy Gowers has kicked more goals than Daniher, Toby Greene, Tom Hawkins, Cale Hooker and Paddy McCartin.
Should have 4 or 5 more. Big fan of his.

his ability to read the play is great, doesn't jump and stays down to crumb the goals.
Reminds me of a more athletic Dickson

Yeah fair point TDC both in the fifteen to thirty game range, but I do love their attributes and their
weight to height progression. Richmond have also painted themselves into a selection corner with
their drafting of small crumbers in recent years. Shai Bolton, Dan Butler, Jason Castagna, Jack
Higgins, Patrick Naish, Daniel Rioli, Liam Baker, Tyson Stengle and Derek Eggmolesse-Smith
very much doubt they will ever all play in the same side and that's without including the quick
half back transition players.

Completely get where you are coming from, and it is a difficult balancing act. Are they not getting games due to depth, or have they not developed or are they just not up to it... ?

Is a far better mark than Dickson as well. Sadly, not a better kick.
Statistically only two players in VFL/AFL history are if we're talking about goal accuracy.

Gowers is a rookie listed player who played 6 AFL games.
TBH pre-season I wasn't sure he would have even debuted by now and he's leading our goal-kicking. For any flaws in his game I'm calling his performances a bonus. Consider some of the guys we've had on the rookie list in the past and he's ahead of curve, and consider we traditionally do better via the rookie draft than most clubs do and we should be doing cartwheels to pick up a guy for nothing who is contributing to the team in a area we desperately need help in.

I think Richmond have flipped their whole approach and understanding of football, people rave about Dustin Martin
and rightfully so, but in my opinion the other Richmond players allow Dustin a certain freedom in the way he
approaches his football in an attacking sense. I would use the analogy of Sam Murray from Collingwood, he could
have stayed at Sydney and starred in the NEAFL waiting for an opportunity, but Collingwood to their credit came
in and swept him up with the promise of opportunity much like our raid on the great Shane Biggs. I see both
Menadue and Markov in the same light waiting for the opportunity bus even though they both have more exposed
form than Sam Murray and would cost more. 3 to 4 years more advanced than a draftee.
