It’s not great for the players but I like hearing Power is keeping his cards close to his chest unlike Jmac who was handing out 2 year contracts like they were going out of fashion
I like that the few whispers I've heard all involve us keeping pick 5.

I’m fine with us not watering down pick 5. I’d be really excited if I heard we were trying to move up though.
I want more picks, Bevo has put the line through too many for my liking, he has to keep Picken and Morris because
he has no choice not ideal at all.

Can't somebody explain to me how we can keep pick 5 and still get West and maybe Khamis ? I have no idea how the whole points system works.
Basically if West is bid on after our first pick, we can either use our later picks points to select him, or alternatively we can go into deficit in the same round he was nominated by another team the following year. So if he is nominated at pick 16 we can choose to lose the value of pick 16 from our first rounder in 2019 if we don't use this years picks. Same with Khamis, though he will hopefully not be in the first round.

According to a few here we let Dahlhaus and Wallis go and hope to get compensation picks which we can use as points. We then downgrade pick 5 into later picks. All so that we don't go into points deficit for next year and miss out on some unknown players who may or may not be half the players Wallis and Dahl are and our pick 5 might have been.

We have father sons and NGAs for the next few years so i am happy to continue to go into deficit

That is how a club self-discombobulates.

Is this ‘Superfooty’ Herald-Sun bullshit making people lose their minds?

Keep your good players. Turn your spuds into mash potato - not pick 78 in 2024.

Yeah I don't understand the logic behind those who would rather let Dahl and Wallis go rather than go into deficit next year...as if going into deficit is the end of the world?

I know Hunter had a good game the other night, but I’d rather keep Wallis and let Hunter go.

Pretty harsh given that by all reports Hunter took unders on his last contract to help the club. He's probably on the same or less wage than some blokes who are stuck in the twos. I'm not saying he's a gun but if you don't think he's best 22 any day of the week I'd question your judgement. Probably one of the better value-for-money players on the list.

Not that I don’t rate him, but I think if Wallis is let go, he will be a loss. I know he’s slow, but he hardly misses at goal, and can take a good mark. I think if you weigh up the pros and cons, Wallis wins, just.

Thinking with the head and not the heart... i think it would be a bad idea to let Picken play on. We all know how he plays and the likelihood of getting another head knock at some stage next season is high. And if he did get that knock then he is done for. Would be a waste of a list spot when we badly need to find new talent. Especially if the head knock happened early in the season. That probably isnt good business.

And IF he changes the way he plays, then is it worth keeping a Picken who's courage and bravery might come back to the pack?

i think lets just cut it off, better for both parties, give him a nice farewell

It’s rightfully & totally up to Picken if he’s cleared to play, but nobody will force him to stay on & nobody should be upset if he walks away. Personally, I don’t think he will play next season & if he does play again this year I’d be surprised.

Superfooty and the Hun in general are turning into Buzzfeed. Full of lists, nonsensical theories and solutions, inaccuracies and general BS.

If we go anywhere near tampering with Pick 5, we may as well pack it in. That pick is gold.

We need to be dispatching players to get second and third rounders. Load up.

No we don't, and that is what Melbourne did years ago .. how did that go for them?

Zoom. Right over the top.

You do know that each draft year has different players in it, right? This year is supposedly a superdraft, so if we see real value at picks in the 30s and maybe 40s, then we should try and get a few picks.

not "right over the top" at all .. the team needs experience not less of it . To get second rounds and even to an extent thirds this year you aren't getting it by trading rubbish

Cal Twomey alwo said this is a good draft but no superdraft ..
