Like the Hawks.Oh they get players like Impey
we get Trengrove.Would like Omeara as well instead of Crozier.Mitchell instead of Suckling.
Kids or castoffs.I CHOOSE KIDS
Would you pay what Hawthorn paid for Omeara? I wouldn't. I'd take the Crozier deal over the Omeara deal all day.

I diont mind the hawks deals. They go hard for players they want and get them. It makes more sense than baulking at cost and then scrounging for scraps.

Burton and Omeara : huge talents with serious injury clouds. They are boom-bust players, but are they any less likely to play 200 games than the mid 1st round picks that were used to get them? And if they dont bust, they are elite players, so more upside than pick 10 or 15 (generally)

Agree, but I think the O'Meara deal needs to be put in the context of the Mitchell deal. I think they would've had to give up more for Mitchell if they'd had the right picks available, but because they were using up their other picks on Jaeger, they got him cheaply.

Not sure if either are there at present,
both are potential B÷ but both would be closer to C grade over the last 18 months IMO...maybe that makes them cheaper to keep?
Im not looking to get into another futile argument over what arbitrary letter rating each of us would assign to a certain player. I'll say they're B+ and you'll say they're G+×÷ and that'll be that.

Fair enough. They haven't been that good for a while...when I say not that good, I mean ordinary, may not have got games at top clubs, close to crappish, non performing, sometimes dropped...Too many letters?;)

Having said that I'd retain as they should get better, have already proved they can be 'B+'and we need experience.. I see far less upside in getting 2nd rd FA comp picks that would get watered down if we got a FA ourselves or at best pay for players the system gives us anyway. Or clearing cap for some mythical 'boom' recruit.

Not a big fan of the "top clubs" label. Who the **** is a top club these days? Richmond? Because they went from 14th to a flag? Collingwood? Because they went from 13th to second?

"Top clubs" is a very temporary thing these days. Dahl and Mitch would get a game at any club.

Any chance of getting of second rounder for Caleb from port or the crows
I’m really against trading anyone for a second rounder considering it will just be used to absord points for West and Khamis, who we will be able to obtain regardless.

Trading Daniel is stupid. His worth will be proven when the team moves back up the ladder and can play his natural outside role again.

And if they’re commanding A- money from other clubs?
If another club is willing to pay overs for them I still hope they'd stay with us for slightly less money. Would I get into a bidding war for them? No. Would I lowball them to the point that it forces their hand? Hell no.

So much debate about whether we should keep our UFAs and RFAs when the issue could be out of our hands anyway. Even if we offer all of them contracts going forward, other clubs may trump our offers anyway. If we are to make offers for the likes of Wallis, Dahl and Rough lets offer exactly what we think they are worth now based on form and not on predictions of what each could do in future seasons. I say that in all of these cases the market will take care of itself as long as the outcomes for us are fair and reasonable.

Outside of the Bulldogs I'm sure his dad would view Essendon as the most desirable club to go to.
His dealership business partner is an Essendon cotorie member and is heavily involved at Windy Hill.

If Mitch wants to stay, we give him a contract. Simples. We have neither the depth nor mature bodies in the midfield to be pushing players like Mitch out. If he wants to go, that's his call.
My son works in hospitality in a county pub. Last year Mitch was in having a couple of games of pool with a few mates, the son of course had to have a yak to him, and they spoke about Stringer who was heading to Essendon and Mitch’s comment was the “the worse part of this is seeing Stringer in an Essendon jumper”. So no, I don’t think Mitch would go to Essendon easily.
