I read the Carlton draft board and the draft board, Carlton seem to want a Smith/Walsh/Rankine. A few of them floated the idea of St Kilda pick 5 + 2019 first rounder for pick 1. Would anyone here do pick 6 + 2019 first rounder for Lukosius? Kid is being touted as the best thing since Nick Riewoldt. Personally I probably wouldn't, but he and Schache up forward would sort out our KPF with Toyd resting down there and would sort us out for the next 10 years. We are also getting West who's a top 5 midfielder from this draft, I'd rank him 3rd or 4th.

Remember that is their hypothetical. 2 early first rounders to get an unknown player? Lol

That’s like us saying we will get an early 2nd rounder for Roughead or Jong

Isn’t Tom Campbell like Preuss lite? Don’t think Preuss is a Bevo type.
I think Bevo needs an assistant with a better approach to the ruck. Since 3rd man up went the way of the dodo, we haven't even halved the ruck contests in a game since.

Preuss would be dirt cheap and would give us a contest. We haven't had that in our ruck department for about 2 years.

Preuss wouldn't be dirt cheap since a lot of clubs would love him.

If the strategy is to halve the contest we would give BTC a game especially vs Gawn.
Sadly Beveridge is set in his ways and philosophies therefore we concede the ruck every week.

But we actually don't go purely defensive at the centre bounces. Our players are waiting for some mythical hitout to advantage rather than attempting to shark the opposition ruck tap. So frustrating.

Bevo needs to admit that he his approach just isn't working and we need to change.

Why not goldstein?

overpay FA Atley (Gaff lite) to get Norf a 1st rd comp and pick up Goldy with a 19 3rd rd for 2yrs to help English develop.

Delist BTC and/or Rough.
Goldstein wouldn't want to come to us and we wouldn't want to give up in trade what North would demand. Preuss is gettable though and won't cost a mint at the trade table.

Bevo wants to ruck Boyd in the first instance, so Preuss would only be backup for weeks like today when Boyd can't play. But he'd be a clear improvement on Roughead as a fall back ruck option.

Amen to that.
On the brightside English is coming along nicely.

Why would Preust move if he re-signed and can see Goldy going soon to come and be a backup for us ? Rumour has it that Goldy apparently was shopped and had some issues with team mates.

And the whole point of overpaying Atley is getting them over the top comp.

Also Norf may need to clear cap space for Gaff and Kelly who are locks to go there....

Why would Pruess want to leave Norf where he is only behind Goldstein who has a couple of years left to play backup for us and be competing long term with English, would be a career killer for him.

Agree.

So we get Pruess and lose one of him or English in 18 months ???

Martin makes more sense...

He is improving and would have been far better than Roughie today.
Hmmm Ben McEvoy did almost the same to Boyd last week in the third as Max did.

Boyd zero marks and nine touches last week against lesser opposition v Rough with 20 touches and 6 marks....

Agree to disagree if you thought Roughie was ok today...
No Roughy wasnt ok this week. But he was better than Boyd was last week.

In one game today Rough took one sixth of Boyd total tally of contested marks in the last twenty something games.

But agree to disagree that Boyd would've done better. Par or likely worse IMO.
