If it was a lift or shift situation, then Mitch has clearly opted for the former. Bevo wanted more offensive impact, and he's been our leading goalkicker since he was dropped, despite only playing 5 of the 7 games in that time.
Check out the Ching votes bobby2 I gave Wallis votes, he is one of our only reliable goal kickers, I think he should be
the captain with Wood and Bont out. The simple point I was making was Bevo started it all and getting Trengove has
put a question mark over Lewis Young. If we gut Campbell and Roughead are you comfortable having English and
Boyd as the main rucks ? Put the black texta away now and think about it.

Re Roughead: there's no doubt Rough is doing his very best against much better ruckmen. Unfortunately his best is not competitive against them. Several times yesterday he couldn't put any pressure on Gawn to stop him marking including not getting off the ground to at least spoil in a few contests. Our ruck stocks are so fragile with Campbell a likely delist, Boyd's role uncertain and English not physically strong enough yet. The bottom line for me is that Rough isn't a first ruck and can't play anywhere else so a trade (if offered) seems the best option.

Despite what his player agent says, just can't see clubs lining up for Rough.

I trust your info VD - so one would have to ask the club why you would tell players this far out that they are about to be sacked? Screws team morale and the players motivation to stay on the list.

How I break it down at this point.

Lock for future: McLean, Macrae, Bont, Richards, Naughton, English, JJ, Hunter, Daniel, Cordy, Williams, Dunkley, Libba, Adams, Gowers

Likely for future: Schache, Boyd, Lipinski, Dale, Crozier, Young, Wallis, Dal, Dale

Along for the ride (but may not be there when it comes): Picken, Dickson, Wood, Morris, Suckling, Trengove, Red

List cloggers/depth: Jong, Roberts, Smith, Biggs, Collins, Campbell, Webb, Roughead, Honeychurch

No idea - the rest.

Hold on to the first three groups if we can. The fourth move on this year and next. Provided we do ok with our ins I think we’ll take solid steps forward.

Watching NicNat, Ryder and Kreuzer all go down this week I would be very nervous about leaving no mature ruck back ups for Boyd and English. Unless we are looking at taking one of the Kings in the draft

Could be why Biggs played forward? Show his 'versatility' to other clubs?

Suspect Roughead is one, his manager said they'll want to know soon so they can talk to other clubs.

Wonder who else apart from Honey, Dickson, BTC and possibly Jong.

Considering they haven’t played this year you’d think Collins, Roberts and Campbell
Would be on the list

Carlton would be stoked. You're getting a former pick 1 and a pick 5 for just pick 1. Basically getting pick 5 for free. Boyd would also be a top 5 player on Carlton's list imo. Carlton get Boyd and Rankine and we get Lukosius. Everyone wins.
Problem with your trade scenario is that Carlton believes they have young tall forwards covered - Harry Mackay at FF with Charlie Curnow at CHF. Also have young Tom De Koning and Pat Kerr in the VFL who the club is bullish on.
Also can't forget that Carlton were super heavy into Tom back when he was looking to come home. Signing with the Dogs over the club he supported a kid (and who from all reports bent over backwards to 'bring home') apparently put a few noses out of joint. Personally couldn't see it happen unless something too good to refuse was put on the table.

Neither offers much now. Suspect we will extract no value from Roughead if he goes. I’d look for the best state level player that offers what Bev wants from a ruckman. They might be a bust but you might find a gem and they won’t do worse than Roughead has in his games this year.

Poor bloke was killed by the third man up change which was basically targeted at him but it is what it is. If we have an injury he will not be the saviour.

If the club don’t trade or delist the following players at years end after giving them next to no games this year they actually have no idea why they are doing.

Biggs
Campbell
Jong
Roberts
Rough

Honey has got enough games to think they will kee him AGAIN FOR GOD KNOWS WHAT REASON.

And if I was Collins Dickson Dale and Webb I’d be nervous also

Agree on all MD apart from Dale. He has plenty of what we lack - class.

Because its easier for managers to find new homes
Clubs speak all year about trades

I’m not seeing any mature VFL ruckman who would be better than Rough or Campbell. WAFL or SANFL might be options but who would move to Victoria just to be a break glass options? I’d rather at least keep one of them.

From what I heard about Lukosius- I reckon we would be a big winner in that deal.

Carlton do need a ruck though. Kreuzer is always injured and Phillips is unlikely to be their future ruck.

Sorry this doesn’t make a lot of sense in the point of why keep players Bev has shown he really doesn’t want to play?

I agree we need a mature ruckman but Bev clearly doesn’t so keeping them makes zero sense moving forward. Basically wasting two spots on players te coach doesn’t want
