Do people even check the contract status of guys before posting in here?

Roberts Webb and Redpath all have a year left on their contracts.

We have 13 senior list players out of contract and smith retired.

If we keep Dahl Wallis suckling Libba Greene and moz.

We we still have 8 senior list spots to fill with picks 5, 41, 59, 60, 77.

We aren’t getting anything of value for Biggs, honeychurch, Campbell, Dickson, Collins.

We might get a 3rd pick for Jong and we may get a late compo pick for roughy.

So if we are trading Webb Roberts or Redpath you better be happy keeping one of the above guys out of contract.

Personally I’d keep Dickson on a 1 year deal, get rid of the others and trade one of Webb or Roberts this year as they might get us a 3rd rounder for points or a pick upgrade. Next year the other goes, along with Redpath.

like it or not, retaining one of Rough or BTC is likely, with Rough the most likely. Forget English “developing”, he will need to share ruck duties with Boyd next season. Simple.
Recruiting a mature ruckman, of which are hard to find, we cannot field a team with Boyd, English, Schache and a recruited mature in any case. So, sorry for all the traditionalists giving English another few seasons to “develop”, his time is now. We have to suck it up. This is why we need to retain one of the other 2 to play VFL, and use to cover for spells/injuries. Now unless somebody can nominate a cheap as chips mature ruckman, Who is willing to play VFL, that offers more than the two back ups we already have, then one stays.

What do you think of the jabari and lavine deals?
i love the deals, we are scary on offense but bit concern on defense. Parker having a team option is a huge plus for us. If he gets hurt and we cut him. We can still have 40mil cap space to replace him

So did Cloke.

Redpath I just don't see it with his injury history and our plethora of talls.
Roberts is probably on base salary or close to it so I'd keep him for his contract, I'd keep him over Collins if it was a question of the two as well. Just does teh basics right, will never be a world beater but does his job when required.
Webb has had quiet interest from other clubs, I'd let him go where he wants to for more opportunity.

I would have kept Rough but Nevo all but nominatign English/Boyd as our best combo with Trengove as the depth option leave Roughy out in the cold, and he's rated higher than Campbell.

I'd prefer to have some senior cover on the list (Zac Clarke at 29 is killing it in the WAFL and would be cheap while English develops) but it sounds like we won't be going that way.

I guess I didn’t consider Trengove as back up. And if Bevo’s mantra of mobility being a pre requisite, how can he suggest such. Oh well. Clarke is exactly the type I was suggesting as long as he costs sfa and plays VFL only called upon when one of the other 2 are n/a.

I hope we keep Biggs. It’s not like he’s old and he’s an AFL standard defender when in form.

Or maybe I’m just holding onto 2016 Biggs and that’s never coming back.
Did you watch the first quarter of the Port game? Through panic he gave the ball back to Port that cost us three goals directly in the first quarter alone. Watch the replay if in any doubt. He had to be moved up field to stop any further damage. Honest trier, but decision making skills are lacking.

The Parker one is perfect. Potential reward, and very little risk considering the stage in the rebuild.

Lavine fine. Potentially a bit too much per year, but meh, its cap space.

Lavine is only earning an extra 2-3mil if he just signed with bulls

Sydney are a big watch for me this off season. Talk of Lloyd not getting the money he wants.

They’re gonna want something to trade for Darcy Moore. He’s a bloody good player, Lloyd. Interested to see what they do.

Surely they’re keen to get Hannebery off the books.

Chelsea.
I actually think our list is in good shape in the future, if we look at our best 22 for the next 5 years (no players born before 1992) we are in good shape, when we consider we will be getting another 5 drafts into this best 22. I've assumed we have taken West and Rankine this year.

FB: Naughton - Cordy - Richards
HB: Johannisen - Adams - Williams
C: Macrae - Liberatore - Hunter
HF: Rankine - Schache - McLean
FF: Dahl - Boyd - Gowers
Foll: English - Bontempelli - West

I/C: Dunkley - Wallis - Dale - Daniel

I would love it if we took Rankine, but surely he'll be gone by our pick.

I'm still not convinced by Adams' durability, but if we keep Young (he has suiters) he'd surely be developed enough to play a tall intercept role.
