IF he wants to go.

I would prefer to keep him & Libba but let the other FA go.
Why are we so happy to lose proven experienced players who are only 25 or so for magic beans?

It cant be salary cap, even with the Boyd factor we are choc full of pups on minimum chips.

Doesn't make any sense to me.

Just out of interest if anyone can recall. Since Dahl debuted in 2011 (I think) has he ever been "omitted". Omitted as opposed to not selected through injury. I'm not certain but I don't think he has, ever.

Let me start by saying the Boyd deal is done and there is no undoing it. I think what we really want is sustained success, and managing the cap carefully by paying players in terms of dollars and years that allows us to structure a well-balanced list that can compete for a decade. I can only speak for myself when I say I hope we keep Dahl and Wal but I am backing the club to not over-pay them. It’s quite important that we don’t overpay them as the pups grow up, and it allows us to attract outside talent to bring in more experienced players.

So I don’t want to lose them, and I hope they stay, I just hope it is for a term and value that reflects their output.

I hope he stays. I still think Dahl and Wallis most likely will be Bulldogs next year. Just hyperthical what we can do if that isn't the case.

It's not in our interests to do the trade if Band 1. Why take a worse deal?

IF it's band 2 comp worthy, then trade multiple late second / third rounders to give us lots of points.

GC might even trade pick 2 for 6 & Wallis.

Its a good trade, drop 4 spots for a senior player who provides leadership and drive. It's the sort of trade they should have done from Day 1. They can still get the King brothers in the pick 6 range.
If that trade happened who would you take with pick 2? Bit of talk Blues make take Walsh so Lucousis could be available. If he went 1 though would you take Walsh. Smith could go anywhere between 2 and 6 too by what I'm reading. I would want 38 or 42 coming back our way too.

I’d rather get gonorrhoea of the eyes and herpes of the tongue than see that orange plastic sh!t win anything.

Couldn’t care if them winning meant us getting Shiel and Kelly the whole lot of them can GAGF.
I can't see them winning. When the going gets tough, they shit themselves(too many chiefs ….indians) . They were in better positions in previous years and way more injuries this season.

Eagles and saints keen on Roughead with him likely to leave according to Stevo/Ch7
They're welcome to him...Surplus with Trengove and English and all the other talls.

I'm not big on Trengove but even he is more convincing in the ruck than roughead.

Ditto, but re: Dahl and Wally - it seems we've low-balled both.

Has massive train wreck written all over it. Stinks of a desperate coach trying to cling to a job....
They're absolutely panicking. The board knows that they have to do something within the next two years and are throwing everything at the wall.
