I'm still on board with trading down with Adelaide to get McGovern (if he's obtainable, that is). If the player we want would still be available at that pick anyway, bringing in some contested marking (His 6.2 marks per game would be equal first with Adams for us, his 1.3 contested marks a game would be first) would be very beneficial for a team that struggles aerially. Might take more than us giving up a few draft spots, but there could be a kind of win-win deal worked out there.

I like how much we've emphasised drafting/recruiting classy ball users (Schache, English, Richards, Lipinski, Greene etc), but the next step there is bringing in some marking power around the ground. Although that need is reduced if Boyd starts clunking marks around the ground like he did in the GF. I'd just be more confident if we could point to more than one game as an example with him though.

This, Faz would get what $400-500k a year? Gowers Lipinski and Greene would be on $400k between them, ok maybe $600.

my point is we have 3 players that all together would roughly be on the same coin if we got someone like Faz. their output would be much grater at the same time.

Same player as Hunter with a slightly better left foot. Not who we need in my opinion
You're joking right? Andrew Gaff was a legitimate brownlow chance before his suspension. He's a lot a quicker and much more damaging than Hunter. That's like saying you don't want Josh Kelly because we have Jackson Macrae. He's the exact sort of player we need.

One west coast eagle was in Brighton today meeting with Power.... dogs are going to load on him I was told..

also pick 6 will be traded to Adelaide for picks 9 and 26....

Same info 1.2m over 5 years for gold coast forward lol to richmond done deal
Assuming this is Gaff, hoping it's not. Nothing to do with his recent behaviour, we just don't need him for the money he'd cost. Hunter and Richards (along with others) can pretty much cover that role for the next 10-15 years. I understand the desire to bring in a big name player and Gaff is a good player and seems like a good enough bloke, but it's gonna take a bidding war to get him and I think the money could be better spent elsewhere.

On actual weak spots in our list. Why spend a million a year on a position where we already have an abundance of very capable players when our forward line is still a very clear weakness?
We also need the excess cap space to accomodate for the growth of our very young list. It’s common sense that players under 23 will be expecting higher and higher salaries as they mature over the next 5-10 years.

According to the Hun this morning North are pretty confident it’s either them or he stays. Offer is at least $1 mil.

We don't have any other 26 yo A graders with elite disposal that I know of. What other forwards who can drastically improve our forward line are get table this year?

He would be top 5 in our goal kicking, a quick two way running midfielder with good kicking skills and can play inside and out.

These attributes improve any side and would also improve our F50 entries and efficiency.

For the right price, he is the type of player we should be looking to bring in. I think that the price will be inflated by the likes of North and the Saints though. He’s not a get at any price player....

I'd give away a first rounder for Gaff, absolutely.

I know he's an outside-mid-left-footer and we already have Hunter and Macrae, but how important are they to our set up? Imagine Gaff running around racking up 30 possies a week alongside those two with Bont getting his 25 and using it nicely.

Then there's the forgotten man who's had a terrible 2018, Bailey Dale.

I'd rather a stop-gap with a couple of years left that gives us time to develop our own. Seems the club thinks the same way.
