This won't be a majority view but ...
... I know he's stuffed up badly in recent times and his shortcomings as a captain and communicator have been well documented but he's been a fantastic player for us over 10 years and has knocked back bigger $$$ opportunities to stay loyal to the Dogs in the past. He could have done a Ward and play half-hearted in his last game but he got 38 possessions and 3 votes (yes, I know it was against GWS but he was pretty solid over several games at the end of the season).

You are obviously free to think and say what you like but for me I'm just sad for him and us that it's come to this. I don't need to abuse him. I just want it all over and done with ASAP.

Let's start afresh with a great young group who will now assume player leadership of the club.
Captain of our club who after talking over issues with the coach and President then went behind the clubs back to organise a trade to a club who is now trying to screw us at the trade table, not giving us any room to move on a trade and then threatening to retire if he doesn't get his way.

No i stick by my original name, i have never been more pissed at a player in my life, if he wanted out fine, but to do it the way he has is absolutely disgusting and an affront to the people who have supported him his entire career.

Well I guess the debate is what a reasonable offer is. We seem to have fairly different views on this. You may be right who knows at this stage though.

FWIW Barrett and Wallace just described a failure to trade Boyd and Griffen as potentially catastrophic for the players involved and the clubs.

Interesting times.
And they are right (for once...)

What draft picks or Boyd will replace Griffen???? Bottom doesn't look to bad, no 1 PSD pick...
yep. if we dont get Boyd this year i'd love to finish last. Then we can say a big f*** you to GWS and taken Boyd for nothing in the PSD

hahaha, lets cut the bs. Certainly changed your tune from the crap you posted late last week.
What? Where am I bullshitting? I was replying to someone saying that Dogs and Blues are at the exact same position except for 1 ladder position.

I stand by everything I have said.

I do wish you luck with both. I truly do.

If we can get Tomlinson and either of 4 or 7 prefer 4 of course but I would say that is a win.
Tomlinson can and is a very promising defender who has been switched back on occasions several times this year. Perfect height to play on the athletic tall and is a very good user of the ball out of the back half.
I really really like him so I hope he is part of the discussion.

Use 4 on a tall and 6 on Laverde or Ahern/Weller.

We get bookends as either and as well as improve our spine. Still leaves a big hole in our forward half we can fill with Boyd. Still a spot for ya big boy get here ASAP.
Tomlinson very happy in Sydney as far as I'm aware.

You didn't need to lose those players, they are unwanted. So their value is less already.
Jeffry wanted to leave. It was mutual. It was because of personal issues. It is no different to Jones. If Jones is not traded, we will quit and enter PSD.

At least Jeffry had two suitors in Essendon and Melbourne and we sent him to the club he chose.

Griff will go............he has to go, he wont even talk to the club this week so he is goneski. GWS would know this and as long as they offer a reasonable trade it will get done. And they know they have to be reasonable or kiss goodbye any other top line players wanting to go there.

I think Boyd will stay and it will be a very difficult year for him but he will survive.

Catastrophic? Did they seriously say that? Boyd getting 200k while he waits for his 1mill per year contract to kick in is now a Catastrophic event? Poor kid.

While I don't think it will happen, Griff staying at the Bulldogs is another kettle of fish all together but still a little shy of catastrophic.

You're the worst performed club this century.

I'd STFU if I were you.

We're still in the anger process. We'll get to acceptance one day.

Ha, nice one. Your list is going nowhere fast. For a team stacked with so called stars and number 1 picks, you finished a spot higher than us and we had a shocker.

False sense of arrogance over at Optus Oval. Have done bugger all since the 90's.

Would much rather our list going forward.

But that's for a different thread completely. Just cut the fake "good luck" bs.

IMO there is no place for opposition supporters on this particular thread whatsoever.

They always end up getting people fired up. This is meant to be a thread dedicated to trade discussion - not batting off trolls who come into gloat.

I've already accepted the bottom place next year. Just not happy about it. How long are you gonna be happy being on the bottom with the silver lining being a #1 pick?

It's funny - we seem to be the only board who don't employ a "Bulldogs Supporters Only - Others Will Be Carded" mentality.

Sometimes the board is the weaker for it.

Barrett talking sense for once believes GWS have as much if not more pressure to get the deal done given they courted Ryan Griffen and would have bailed on him destroyed their trust and would be a digrace
