Thanks Dannnnnnnnnn, I guess the question then is - do you (or any of the other VFL watchers) think he has the potential to make our AFL list?
He's certainly not ready to play AFL right now (too lean and raw) in my opinion; he'd be a development prospect if he did make it onto our list. What you want to see with those development ruck types is consistent improvement and he's certainly ticking that box right now. Still has a long way to go.

I'd suggest that if he keeps developing as he has over the course of the year, he's a fair chance to end up on a rookie list. If Cam Wood can get rookie listed, Fort certainly can if there's enough improvement in his game to show that he's still developing rapidly.

I think Darcy Fort may well tick the box, but his kicking for goal was really
pox.Too much with the rhyme it has to be medication time.

He seems to be developing pretty well. Ruck work has always been fairly sound but it's improving. Quite mobile and athletic, and presents a little bit around the ground. Took a couple of superb contested marks the other day, including a genuine pack mark. Early signs are promising; will be interesting to follow him as the year goes on.
You reckon the way he marks it is translatable to AFL though, I have severe doubts, I reckon AFL level defenders would chew him up and spit him out as they could easilly outmuscle him, he is a real beanpole and always has been and that mixed with poor ground level skills are not a good mix, also his kicking makes Casboult look like Gilbee. I doubt he will be looked at.

They definitely would as it stands, he won't make it at his current level/physique. His combination of tap work and mobility might catch the eye of a few clubs though. I certainly wouldn't be taking him now, he's a long, long, long way off it. I think he's improved quite a bit since he came to the club though; if he keeps accelerating his development I think there's a chance a club takes a punt.

If we got Henderson gorringe and an outside runner I would be very happy , who's the best outside runner available other than WHE as we couldn't get him as well ?

A young David Hale would be ideal.

I'm still spewing about the Fuller / Ben Brown F up from the 2013 draft. We were all over him and told him we were going to draft him, ended up picking Fuller instead and the Roos swooped a few picks later. 199cms, 100kg, mobile, athletic, strong, hard working 22 year old ruck / fwd who looks more than serviceable in both positions, and is a nice set shot on goal. Every time I watch him it boils my blood.

We thought he'd be available at 60, and fuller wouldn't be. Maybe tried to get a bit cute with it.

Just cannot knock dalrymple tho. He's given us hope by nailing all his early picks during the rebuild.

I like my ruck man to be beefeaters
I don't care if they can kick or handball
I want them to play like Clarke Keating and just maul everyone in their way
As long as they can bring the ball to ground they don't need to mark it either
You just want an aggressive man mountain with a huge tank
Anything more is ok but unnecessary

It looks like a fair few Carlton supporters are actually open to trading Henderson.. We should be all over that.

Dahl - Henderson - Crameri
Dickson - Boyd - Stringer

Even though I think Henderson is a better CHB, that forward structure is ideal.

Plus he can swing back if we want Roughy to give a chop out in the ruck, or we can have T.Boyd give some ruck support as well, Henderson stays at CHF and Stringer plays FF. Dead simple!!

Oh absolutely, not knocking Dal at all because he has been huge for us, everyone is entitled for a few mistakes. This one just annoys me every time I watch Brown play well though at a position we are crying out for.

Done with this fuller for Brown shit. On repeat
If you're done with it, why bother even posting something pointless like that? It was a valid point in a discussion regarding a 2nd ruck / fwd and one of the first times I have ever mentioned it.
