One to watch this year is Tyler kitel key position can play back and foward around the 194cm mark just been cleared to play for East perth I think ?
I mentioned him a couple of days ago, he changed from East Perth to West Perth and East was furious about it, went to tribunal or something

That is annoying isn't it? But goodness knows what our list managers have in store for us, hopefully some more excitement
Yep more inside mids and 175cm fwd/mid midgets who are "good ball users"

Need to trade for anyone half decent KPP of a good age who can come right in and compete.

If Minno unexpectedly retires why don't we go for Leuenberger?

I mentioned him on here a few weeks ago and was laughed at, apparently his ruckwork was "soft" or something
Weird, I reckon he's an absolute beast. Would be a great pick up in my opinion

Imagine Tom Campbell/Ayce Cordy doing that, I'd fall off my seat with shock haha

Don't mind the option of Leuenberger. Watch how he plays this season and make a more informed call later in the year.

Jenkins plays the 20/80 role well imo.

Stefan Martin seems to be well ahead of Berger at the moment, the only issue with Berger is he seems to get a bad injury every 24-30 months

Offer him 400k a year and he might #moneytalks
I think that we could possibly hold off on finding an A grade ruckman, especially if we can cover one of our other needs
we should try to cover at least one need each year until 2018 & try to retain our draft picks as best we could
Henderson, T.McKenzie, Carlise, WHE; these are the top of players that we should be going for this year

Jenkins is a forward before a ruckman, every day of the week. Henderson is a good player, but is he only valued as highly as he is here because he can play both forward and back. I think Jenkins is probably a better forward than Henderson

I do think that ruckman certainly are easier to come by, is Jenkins out of contract this year?
Always a possibility that we could go for him next year to, like I said
got to address the needs of the list slowly, because it'd be pretty bad if we traded away all of our draft picks for players
even if they are currently decent players, they might happen to be a bad fit & we don't want to be in a position again where the age profile of our list is stuffed up

I don't think we should be this "trade happy" with our first couple of picks.

Henderson, Carlisle etc etc should be the only reason we move them on I feel.

I honestly think we could tempt him to move and I don't think it'd take what some others are suggesting. Maybe it's because I don't rate him as highly though. Our first (pick 4-6) for Henderson and their second pick (20ish).

Still gives us two top 25 picks and solves a big issues with our list going ahead as the 2nd kpf/ruck

Strongly agree, we need to add some more quality kids this draft then next year trade/go for FA.

This draft is super strong at the top as well (first 5-6 picks) I'd much rather start 2016 with a potential A grade 18 year old who we could potentially get 12+ years of service out of as opposed to a 26 year old Henderson who is probably a B-B+ grade KPF who we will get 5 years out of. If our pick was around 12-15 i would do the trade but a top 6 pick? nty

Carlisle is a different kettle of fish, is 2 years younger than Henderson and as well as being as good as Henderson up forward his also an A grade KPD. I really want to hit this years draft and I'd prefer to draft this year and hit FA next year and go after someone who won't cost us picks, However, I'd probably do the trade for Carlisle, Getting Libba back, adding Carlisle and natural improvement into our youngsters would make us a top 8 side in 2016 IMO.

Some news at hand.

Jake Carlisle will be leaving Essendon. No interest in staying at all.

We've tabled a significant long term deal. We're not the only club in there swinging though. Carlton, Collingwood and norf have already fired shots as well.

We had a big swing last off-season before the Boyd thing happened, and the Carlisle camp weren't confident we'd still have the cap space to go again this time around...........but we do.

Only minor catch is that he's adamant about playing chb. Still, if he's gettable, you just do it and work out the rest later.

Means we could push Roughie forward? Or develop Talia as a forward? Or develop Roberts / Hamling?

I'm very happy we're being this aggressive but am I the only one who doesn't want to spend big money on a defender. Yes he slots right in but that means Talia or Rough get kicked out and I just feel we have bigger needs at the moment.

If we had some proof Rough could play the 2nd forward/2nd ruck role well it would be absolutely perfect but we just don't know.

IMO we just have to get Carlisle in and have Roughead, Carlisle and Talia as the 3 talls, plus this allows us to swing Roughead with freedom into the ruck if needed.

Carlisle at CHB, Walker at CHF. SPINE SORTED!!!

Minson isn't getting any younger and could decline quickly. Rough could play the no. 1 Ruck position in the future.

We could also land a josh walker type from geelong. Can never have too many good players

Just a thought but if we got Carlisle couldn't Roughie stay a FB and Talia play the Morris role just an opinion.

I would love Carlisle at our club the only concern i have is having the money available for 2017-2018 to give Bonts, Stringer, Macrae and Libba decent contracts.

Don't concern yourself. J-Mac's first priority is to ensure we have enough cap to retain all our young talent. He will not compromise this by bringing outside talent in. Don't underestimate him. Smart smart man.
