It seems like to me the 3 players who will come off our list are Minson in a trade, Darley and Fuller.
I get the feeling we'll want the continuity in the list and that might lead us to a flag in 2016.
Use our first round pick (but don't expect a superstar from a pick in the teens as I have outlined before), upgrade our second pick with Minson from pick 32 to an earlier second round pick, and then draft DMac with our third.

That sounds pretty much spot on at the moment, still think Darley is stiff though but yeah he showed a few flaws yesterday.

Probably. Last time I spoke to Dally he said the club expected him to re-sign, but I don't care either way.

It probably was harsh, but he seriously frustrates the shit out of me. I mean seriously, the free kick against Gawn was right in front of me and my group and I laughed as soon as I saw the ball go in because he literally had no idea what to do, so he turned away from the ball and scragged him. Make him farking mark it, don't gift him a goal. God it was pathetic.
Talia repeatedly demonstratespoor spatial awareness in marking contests. Even when he finds himself in good position initially, he inevitably maneuvers himself out of it - incredibly frustrating.

That being said, if we can keep him we should. Good-sized serviceable defenders that can find the ball aren't a dime a dozen. He's the most likely candidate to step into Morris' third KPD role in a year or two (Zaine should be allowed to find his feet the first year or two without that responsibility).

Yep agree with the rider that this would be what occurs if the club controls things. What OofC players like Grant, Cordy, Talia do is anyone's guess. Then there are rumours re Hunter, so still a lot to play out.

Ayce will be delisted. Feel Darley will get another year.

What a load of utter bullocks. He was bad on Saturday. So was Roughy. So were lots of others. I had to laugh at someone from another club popping up in the game day thread genuinely confused "you guys won right?".... Says it all. If you are going to trade these guys developing their craft everytime they have a bad game you aren't going to have a very long list. Should've traded Wally last year as well right? (Agh bugger). Should've traded Stringer when he played those shit games down back? (Man oooops). Hunters rubbish - let's trade the muppet (ahh shit he's getting 30 touches a game for Hawthorn).. You have to, have to, make allowances for these guys coming back from injury. JJ will likely be pretty bad first game back as well. Roberts and Roughy are almost certain to need a couple of games to get back into it - Rough in particular from a foot which is always tough. Roberts is easily in our top 30 players and arguably always in the top 22 when all are fit. You want to start making definative statements about being wrong? I rekon you might take a glance in the mirror big fella..

How does that work with trade week if we delist him?
There were reports over the weekend on the radio that one of the teams 'North of the border' was into Ayce for next year.
If we even had an inkling that was possible, wouldn't we try and broker a deal to get something for him during trade week?

I thought we could still delist after that.

Clubs generally have a decent idea of what other clubs list management positions are. Not sure of Aordy's contract status. Recent examples of trades we've done simply to take over a players contract are Darley and Tom Young. The minor pick exchange was simply seen as the exchange mechanism.

Nobody would realistically give us anything above the 55-60 pick range for Ayce, and that'd be generous.

I think a few people need to remember that despite our incredible efforts this year we are still a developing team and some of our players are still learning their roles and honing their craft.

What they are now is not what they will always be. Our talls in particular need to be given time.
And for some reason, people seem to forget that currently we have Roughead and Roberts returning from injury, Hamling just back in the seniors after injury and Morris getting older (and smaller in comparison to current day KPF's).

So once we throw Talia on the scrapheap, who is playing KPD for us if this happens again ??

I dont mind having someone who can keep Tex Walker essentially a spectator as a backup KPD....

Just listened back to Triple M and it's Wayne Schwass who mentioned the Cordy rumour. Said has been offered 400k-450k for a three year deal from a club north of the border. Jay Clark then mentioned the Gold Coast connection with Scott Clayton who originally drafted him and rates him.

The way i see it is if youre offering him 400k be prepared to throw up something half decent at the trade table, a pick upgrade would be best for us.

If that's the offer they think they need to put forward to get him across, it speaks volumes for how highly Ayce is rated at our club.

I can't cop people saying he's had 7 years to perform. He spent his first two years just putting on the muscle to avoid being shattered into a million pieces on debut, he spent a year as a key defender, two years as a key forward and only in the last 18 months has he put considerable time into his ruck craft.

If that rumour is true, I wouldn't begrudge him for taking the money (and faith) and running, but I think he'll stay - and excel.

If Ayce goes and Minno retires, our ruck stock will be messed up
Don't see Ayce going, hes rated highly internally and is loved by the players and coaches and loves the club.
IF hes delisted, he will be playing for Footscray

Is Ayce a FA?

The question never occurred before as I never thought Ayce would be in demand - are we living in a parallel universe where we are top 4 and Ayce is sought after??
