The Ruck/Fwd thing has me buggered...sitting here with a mate going through some names.

I've bought up Grimley previously. Won the goal kicking in the VFL but not good enough...

Said it before but Lycett is the guy who fits IMO - he's young and highly mobile and can play fwd - and is someone I'd pay for. He's contracted but opportunity starved with Nic Nat and Sinclair ahead of him.

Would Mitch Brown be gettable from the eagles? If we're looking a kpds, we could certainly do worse

A package deal for the 2 of them sounds nice, but would probably cost a bit much

Brown has been pretty injury prone IIRC and in any cas not sure he is a major upgrade on what we have IMO. So I'd pass on Brown, but that's just me.

And I would definitely cough up our first for Lycett.. WC could then even trade this for Jetta

Just as an indicator of the running start GWS got in the competition, here is a team constructed entirely of players GWS has traded away directly or by rights. I know the mini-draft picks weren’t associated with specific players, but close enough imo.

K.Jacksh J.Hombsch S.Morris

L.Brown S.Frost J.O’Rourke

J.Martin D.Tyson T.Adams

J.Anderson T.Boyd J.Elliot

J.Bruce J.Hogan J.Neade

J.Giles J.O’Meara B.Crouch

S.Edwards, M.Wiley, S.Darley, T.Lee

-M.Clarke D.Barry T.Milera A.Saad K.Aylett

Not a bad list, especially when you add Treloar and probably a couple of others this year.
Would probably beat Carlton.

Saints chased him hard, he wanted to go, Weagles wouldn't let him out of contract, he re-signed a new contract a few months later.
I'd say he's the least gettable option we could think of.

OX just said on SEN Kreuzer failed a medical at Collingwood in the last 24 hours. Then Maxy mumbled the rumour about him having one with us too.

Sounds like failed medical with us might be true.

If Kreuzer had any brains he would have gone pig shooting and been out of
mobile phone range for awhile until the deal was done.;)

So if that is indeed true and Kruezer was our target that could throw some plans in disarray a little. Although I'm sure they have plan B, C, D etc etc down to plan ZZZZZZ

Not a link to us, but amusing.....

http://titusoreily.com/man-cant-believe-collingwood-isnt-listening-trade-ideas/

Lifelong Collingwood supporter Geoff McKenzie, today said he can’t believe the Pies aren’t listening to his trade and draft ideas.
“For the last few years, I’ve been putting forward a lot of ideas about how Collingwood should be managing their roster,” said the 48 year-old.
“But they’ve done nothing I’ve suggested, it’s like they’re embarrassed they haven’t come up with these ideas themselves.”
McKenzie, an unemployed shift worker, says he sometimes wonders if his posts on Nick’s Collingwood Bulletin Board and the BigFooty forums are even being read at Collingwood.

IMO We need a gun first ruck who can spend considerable time in the ruck (for example lets say 80%), with the other 20/30% being shared by 2 of Boyd/Redpath/Roughy.

Martin is the one because he does this and provides a great marking target around the ground, not to mention his follow up efforts are outstanding.

We don't need a ruck who can spend considerable time forward. 2 ruckman sized players in our forward line at the same time is only going to impact on our forward structures. We have plenty of 2nd rucks (Roughy, Cordy and we can use Boyd and Redpath as well).
