No player who is available really screams like a must have at the moment. Adcock is a bit player who would be insurance for our backline given 3 of our back 6 will retire at the end of next year. Kreuzer will go elsewhere. Carlisle isn't welcome here (although he is physically 100% the perfect player for us). Martin is quality and would improve us immediately for a shot at top 4 in 2016, but will be expensive and is likely to go. Witts isn't a massive improvement on Tommy Campbell. Leuy doesn't fit Bev's philosophy. We are not desperate for Aish or Mayes types. Henderson will go to Geelong. Unless we can ensnare a quality player from somewhere, I think I'd prefer to use our first rounder and pick up a couple battle-hardened talls through the rookie draft... there are always a few guys of the calibre of Jordan Kelly or Shaun McKernan you can bring in for depth in case an apocalypse event happens. Otherwise... not seeing the quality player I'd like at this point at this early stage. Let's hope there's a surprise in store for us and we can made a good offer for a high quality but still young and developing KPP/ruck.

What is Blicavs worth in your opinion on the open market in dollars and length of contract.
I'm not good at hypotheticals mate, but I'd welcome him in our team. I went to school with him, he is a really nice guy. I highly doubt he would leave, but we can dream.

So anyway. Spit-balling.

IIRC we've been well under the salary cap (100%) this year:

- 2016 salary cap is 10.072 million. Clubs can spend up to 5% above this figure in 2016 (so 10.572 million) http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-08-07/clubs-set-to-spend-up-big-under-new-tpp-system
- Griffen's supposed portion ($800k, was this for one year?) comes off (?)
- Toyd goes up (to whatever his post 2 year draftee/new contract crossover point is)

The 19-22 year old core get a decent payrise? If there's a margin does this go to a free agent? Or will we usurp your Tigers/Pies who've been linked to every man and his dog (star or otherwise at this stage) and add a Treloar/Aish/other?

If not Carlisle (still think he'll be the one) how about Rory Thompson or even Howe from Melbourne. I think Howe would want more than he's worth but Thompson could be an option. How a Ranga could survive on the GC is beyond me anyway.

Treloar was a lock to leave half way into a year
A coach has to say that
I.e Ryan Griff is a required player at the club...
What about Dixon,Aish and Carlisle.Coaches
Howe asking for $600k. Apparently Suns into him in a big way. No thanks at that price
Your kidding me 4 him.Does that mean a round one selection after there 1st.If so let that just good footballer pack his bags.

Would we have any interest in Aish?

Our name hasn't come up in the media yet but that doesn't mean anything.

I'd happily trade our first pick for him. Out of sorts recently due to contract issues, think he could really add something to our midfield.

No, just no. He is as soft as butter that has been left out during a bushfire.

Geelong is a shop? Or do you mean your mate is the shop??
My mate works in a shop In Geelong and is a social club member. He told me 2 weeks ago we had put a huge offer to Blicavs.I don't think he was lying and it is interesting why he has not put pen to paper. All the ruckmen that have been mentioned I don't think bev would b interested in any of them.

On what planet is jed Adcock not a valuable player for a rebuilding Brisbane that already lacks leadership??? Am i the only one that thinks it's madness for them to be punting him?? He's 29 years old FFS.
Its the planet where you delist all experienced players, get poor on field results then ask for a priority pick...

I mean, thats the very successful Melbourne model.... Who wouldnt want to follow that ??

Oh, but this one has the added bonus of complaining that no-one wants to stay at your club and you'd like a retention allowance please.....

He can play football. He showed that in his first year, and in the SANFL.

If the draft is questionable, it wouldn't be the worst idea.
Answer is still a resounding no from me. Never liked him as a player even before the draft when everyone was on the Aish train for one reason. He is just too damn outside.
