What's being alleged is pretty terrible.
And it would be a terrible decision to bring him in if there is truth to the rumour. And if the club knows the allegations are true, I'd prefer to pick up a bunch of delisted talls like Brown, Giles, Spencer White, Mason Shaw, someone, anyone, and gamble one of them becomes halfway competent to give us some depth instead of picking up Carlisle.
The club will definitely know the truth about the rumours and the fact that we are still in the Carlisle race indicates to me that the rumours are not true or that the club knows more about the situation than is known on here.

I would hope so, but part of me is worried we've been spooked by Talia leaving and are getting desperate.

This rumour stuff is doing my head in.

I work with people I despise, as do many others. It's about playing AFL, being successful and making money. We offer him what he wants, he sees a bright future and lots of success with us and he signs. He may not have as many options as originally thought.

Anyone who says they don't want Carlisle because of "poor character" is kidding themselves. We're crying out for a player like him, and we have a genuine chance of getting him.

Yes, it seems that way. Even if the worst of the rumours aren't true, Carlisle is still a flog with a bad attitude. I suspect the rumours aren't true, but we put a line through his name at some point regardless. Now we're losing Talia and we have no KPD depth, so we need Carlisle's signature.

Just wondering, have you played footy? A work place is very different to a footy club, especially an AFL club.

You can't be best mates or even mates with everyone in life, even if you're at a footy club. But, you put aside any differences if you have the same goal and that is working towards a flag.

No one expected Carey to return to North. Harley's time at the Suns is definitely done. Can imagine a few of our boys being pretty pissed if Talia's leaking was at the nefarious and deliberate end of the scale and he still fronted up for preseason training. Plenty of possibilities that would make the relationship between the newcomer and the current players untenable.

The stories around what he is alleged to have done are so consistent across unrelated srouces that there has to be some element of truth to them, and at some point the club did rule him out based on them. However, since then there are some circumstance changes. The player who is most at odds with him looks very likely to leave. That alone shouldn't be enough for us to consider him, so I suspect that through more discussions with Carlisle and his manager, we've heard their side of the story and for one reason or another they've been able to convince us that the transgression was not as bad as first thought.

With respect I think AFdogs isn't too far off. Plenty of blokes who dislike each other have played in successful sides together. The fact that we are all different makes that so. The desire to be a winner is what will override any personal aversions two or more individuals have for one another. In fact having different personalities in a side is as often as not a healthy thing. I reckon Bev is a good enough leader and manager of men to motivate the list as a whole.

Very credible and from several unrelated sources. It's why I'm shocked he's being looked at. Just hoping it's not as bad as it has been made out.
Has there been some corroboration to ensure what people have been hearing is consistent and not just people following the herd in a "me too!"sort of way?

It's not who I think you think it is though haha

I can't speak for the others but at least for me, I've heard about it from a number of different people including someone who works at the club and it's all pretty consistent. The thing is, they may be all hearing it from the same source or sources from within the bulldogs and this was also like a month ago and earlier. Very possible that back then the people at the dogs thought a certain thing about Carlisle, but new light has since been shone on the situation after we spoke to him more.
