Would anyone object to a Michael Talia for Luke Lowden swap
as it seems to help our ruck issues and Lowden could have a
tenuous link to Bevo through being an ex-hawk.

Trying to break the Carlisle vibe, it's on every thread or so it
seems.
I alluded to this possibility a while back but I don't know enough about Lowden (or his standing at the Crows) to confidently say whether it's a good/realistic idea or not. What I've seen has impressed me and I don't see a lot of opportunities at Adelaide, but my exposure to him has been minimal. It's an idea I'm open to though. Not really interested in crappy picks, and many of Adelaide's trade bait options are small inside mid/forwards, much like us.

Is it simply a case of player x pisses off / gets traded and Carlisle is accepted by the rest of the playing group? Highly doubt that's the case if the rumour id as serious as indicated. Minson would never be welcome at Port and I don't think Gold Coast would have touched Sherman. We did, however, recruit Barry Hall...

With respect I think AFdogs isn't too far off. Plenty of blokes who dislike each other have played in successful sides together. The fact that we are all different makes that so. The desire to be a winner is what will override any personal aversions two or more individuals have for one another. In fact having different personalities in a side is as often as not a healthy thing. I reckon Bev is a good enough leader and manager of men to motivate the list as a whole.
'Dislike' is a term you associate with someone who has tension with you through general differences of opinion. Dislike doesn't come close to the emotion that the player has the right to place upon Carlisle if the rumour is true. This is not about personalities

If it's the rumour I've heard, I very much doubt it's as simple as a single player moving on solving the issue. I sincerely hope it's something else entirely.

If the rumors are true, no it's not that simple.

Promised myself I wouldn't enter this debate, however.....talk of us landing a key ruckman, needing a piece of the puzzle to fall in place i.e. a well liked player being traded out to end tension with Carlisle, and Big Will being on the outer......all lines up nicely to me.

So it is Will that has pictures of Carlisle with the alleged Goat....

Never said it was. Wasn't responding to rumours about Carlisle but that people function within football teams even though they don't get along with some teamates. As they do in a workplace. I Don't disagree with your point but it's not strictly relevant to what I posted.

The stories around what he is alleged to have done are so consistent across unrelated srouces that there has to be some element of truth to them, and at some point the club did rule him out based on them. However, since then there are some circumstance changes. The player who is most at odds with him looks very likely to leave. That alone shouldn't be enough for us to consider him, so I suspect that through more discussions with Carlisle and his manager, we've heard their side of the story and for one reason or another they've been able to convince us that the transgression was not as bad as first thought.
Careful mate. There is a particular point that potentially narrows it down considerably if you're correct.

This continuous speculation absent details is far worse than some kind of details
It's death by a thousand cuts because of our imaginations are far worse than any reality

To be quite frank, if I was Carlisle , reading this, I would not want to come to club who's keenest supporters have had their opinion of him so poisoned.

And for those of you who think it's so very mature to protect us from the details , you are beneath contempt and should shove your fake scruples where they fit.

This is the internet, no one is going to get done for defamation or slander. Does someone just want to say what the rumour is? Or at least send me a private message...
Until you realise that IP addresses are really easy to trace and you're liable for whatever you post. Very real possibility that you could get done.

Whatever it is, I'm bemused that most here don't seem to care about some foreign mob called WADA.
I think the consensus is WADA won't lead to a significant penalty. Besides, from my understanding. If he is suspended, he isn't allowed to be paid during that time. So it won't impact us financially.

Personally, it's the Gordon factor. He'd be well across the case as he has been the whole way through. Taking everything else out of it but WADA, if PG supports the move to bring him across, then I'm willing to back him in. I don't think many clubs are better placed than us to make that call.

Shame about what we trade to the Dons. And the disruption to the team if/when it happens.

Thought defamation only applied if you stated it as fact? If you labelled it a rumour, wouldn't you be right? My memory of year 12 legal studies is a bit hazy though
