Macrae suffers in our perceptions because he was the first to play at AFL. Started really well, suggest posters check his stats, but was also the first to tire from playing with the big boys. On the flip side, Hunter was the last of the crop to get games and was still firing at the end of the season.
Further, Marcae was putting in some solid games when our side was really struggling.
Putting all these things in to some kind of perspective leaves me with the following order of merit based on performance not potential:
Macrae
Hunter
Stringer
Hrovat
As for Smith, was putting outsold quality performance before his injury. Can't put a ceiling on it as yet.
