Farren Ray must be picked up!!!
Finals next year guys we need more experience
not saying he will start every game but some of the youngguns will struggle and Ray brings that elite outside game
goals from the midfield cant be underrated
Seems he's having a pretty serious identity crisis, having posted the same thing on pretty much every team board.
Farren. Give it up mate. It's over.

Have we ever had a good number 1?

I remember Minton-Connell as a kid, but he only lasted 2 years
We had a couple of handy players but the best to wear it were Allan Hopkins and Alby Morrison way back in the day.

we should sign up farren ray
well educated asset who still is ok bodywise
great backup and always honest on the field
experienced -played in premierships, won a spoon
if he can sharpen up, in a new and also "familiar" of sorts environment and with the skill around him to drive him forward
a place could open up for him to play
and plus we need a new jarred grant

Played in grand finals lol not premierships

Yep, would be an instant whipping boy, but I think he's past it, he never lived up to his potential imo, solid player getting 200 games out of himself, but never took games by the scruff of the neck which he was expected to when drafted.

Dare I say it, worst 200 game player?
No such thing gangsta deluxe any player who gets to 200 games has to
play multiple seasons and you can't hide for that long. Farren Ray was
very similar to Daniel Cross in that they excelled in the air, but as a
fan you always felt more at ease when they didn't have the ball.

did you follow him at stkilda? maybe u have the wb version in mind?
He was just a role player at St Kilda, usually on a wing, would say Koby Stevens plays a similar role for us but he is way more damaging and dynamic.

Ray was never high production, he never averaged above 90 in a season in Dreamteam in his career which is poor for a midfielder imo, very rarely won games off his own boot. Dal Santo, Hayes, Goddard etc were doing the damage in midfield, not Ray.

Cross was a way more accomplished player than Ray

Cross was high production also, though his kicking was limited which let him down forward of centre

Did he ever win a game off his own boot?
Possibly in 2009

Had 39 touches against Adelaide in a 9 goal win

That was the last time he cracked 30 possies until 2013 in a loss against Hawthorn, he did get 29 and 2 goals in a win against Melbourne that year also. For predominantly a wingman, his end product was very disappointing, or the lack of it.

Come to think of it though, Adelaide have two very similar unproductive types in Mackay and Van Berlo, no point of difference what so ever.

I've always liked Ray and followed him at the saints (best friend is a saints fan) so I've always wanted to see him get another chance, but after reading what he had to say in yesterday's paper that he is happy with what ever role, even if that was at VFL helping the younger guys. With that attitude I think he'll be a good person to have around this young group at VFL level
